When playing as the engineer, you are not rewarded in the slightest for going out of your way and placing down radios, ammo boxes, AA/AT guns, or god forbid even sandbags or barbed wire. Furthermore. I believe it would be beneficial to everyone if ammo boxes would be highlighted on the map/minimap.
What I suggest is giving the player XP and points for every building built, for every soldier spawned, for every ammo box usage, and for the sandbags for every round absorbed. Regarding barbed wire I’d say awarding points on basis of damage dealt and whether or not a unit is actually killed by or in the barbed wire itself.
Thanks.
As always. I stream almost daily at 1900 +2 UTC at twitch /VladTheSlavEU
Spawn point: xp for each spawn
Sandbags: when destroyed by enemy
Barbed wire: for damage of give assist if enemy killed few seconds after barbed wire
Ammo: allies using ammo
AAA AT: assist when ally gets kill

They just have to do this. It would be incredibly naive not to. I mean as it is they copied over some good things from other shooters so why not this basic, simple features of the team aspect of their games?
A bit of a side thing, but I think engis should be allowed to keep an AI squad member manning something like an AA gun as a separate order. I hate being locked on an AA gun just waiting for a plane to come around because I can’t order just one squad member to stick to the gun while I join the main fight and support my team.
