Enemy tanks being able to sit in the grey area and shoot at infantry ... should be fixed? video added

Especially on the maps that have for example 3 objectives and the map is a fixed size … never changes during the battle … The enemy tanks can spawn and sit in an area that the other team cannot venture into yet the tanks can shoot all over the place.

This should not be allowed so should be fixed to where a tank can spawn in a grey area but then it has to come over a hill or past a building and be in enemy territory before it can engage the enemy … otherwise … infantry have zero chance to take it out so a play has to or ya gotta set up an AT gun …

The problem with changing the map and adding a hill or building is that the map seems to be simply part of the huge map that all battles are made from …

But in the event this fixed map is a separate map file perhaps ya could fix it … or make it a separate map file then fix it ???

It may be interesting that though we are fighting on the same map but a piece of it … it actually is a little different cause its been tweaked for this fixed battle map size.

On one hand yes it should.
On the other hand no it shouldn’t.
If the tank have clear sights on infantry, infantry will have clear sights on the tank. Ence building a pak gun or deploying a counter measure as a tank its always possible.

It’s a tricky issue. A rare one to see in my eyes but something that happen.
There is a game called heroes and generals, where by editing the map to try and fix a issue a handfull of players complained, there is no corner without a bush or a tree in the way, or massive rocks that prevent tanks to move freely… Making the game unjoyable at any level, editing the maps its a fix to be a problem on the long run. Should be the last action if possible.

In theory. But AT guns are typically very weak and aren’t a real threat to most tanks in a scenario like that. On occasion I kill one, but most of the time I kill 1 crew member by surprise then get nuked.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind more capable AT guns if it’s at all possible.

Or better yet, take pen indicators away so they can use the element of stealth they had IRL.

all kind of “safezone” campping should be fixed. Be it mortar / arty / tank what so ever.

I see another problem here. If tank can fight enemy from the spawn then enemy can fight the tank on the spawn → spawncamp. Same with infantry.
In my opinion spawncamping is, or soon will become an issue.

I really don’t understand why the teams have to have different combat zones in the first place. I don’t see the benefit of such a thing. Yes, it prevents enemies from getting into/behind your spawn zone, but we already have spawn protection for that.

For some reason smoke came to mine … people seem to rarely use smoke … probably because it does not last long … earlier I though it would be cool if mortars had smoke just smoke the tank and let em sit there …

It isn’t problem, as your team should counter them with their tanks. It is problematic only if that tank is OP like Jumbo on Normandy and no other tanks can destroy it from front and it’s sitting too far behind to flank it.

If team is lucky to have attacker pilot than it could be bombed but by then it has probably already taken out too much tanks and infantry probably without any serious damage to itself

It sould be fixed i think cause the only way to counter it when no correct ait support is sacrifice a soldier with a det pack and pray that he didn’t do it for nothing

Yeah, just build an at gun… We all know tnt is the best way of taking out a tank, hiding in the grey zone that magically kills enemies who enters it shouldn’t be possible. For lack of a better solution I’d say combat magic with magic, tank guns shouldn’t be able to fire until entering the combat zone.

Unfortunately the zone magically kills you so fast that it will usually be in vain. I’ve died to the magic powers of the zone countless times while just about to get close enough to start cooking the tnt.

Smoke can be useful but I’d rather keep the limited space for tnt packs.

I think the zones collapse to quick on some or all of the Berlin maps because your being over run leaving your position will get you shot quick so your shooting at them as they are running by and some are shooting back but ya gotta leave cause if ya don’t the zones collapsing and for some foolish reason ya thing if ya get up and run ya can make it but ya seldom do … so it would be cool to be able to stay put and keep shooting at the mob … they gonna get ya in a few seconds anyway.

Once I was protecting this guy as he was running back it was hilarious he was moving shooting rolling around ducking dodging and at times I took out some that were gonna nail him

Kind of like “Last of the Mohicans” when the guy went for help.

infantry mark tank + airplane bomb is the best solution for this situation.

Invasion map zones need a fix, having it never shrink but just get extended would be a good thing.

o Oh look a tank is on the very edge too sitting way back basically no way to get em (check out the mini map and notice I am on the very edge of it)
o Unless some psycho crawls out to em. Earlier he had shot at my squad we were flanking him in a trench he killed some infantry go others
o as I crawled more to flank em he moved way back to grey area then clear back around then came back towards somewhat near where he was then the video starts

So it pisses me of what ya gotta do just to try and take one out … If your squad is with you they are just going to give your position away I sent them to the point after they got shot up and I started crawling to no mans land … one of my last squadies for some reason went out towards the tank I guess to go around a building who knows he got wacked …
