Enemy AI can be ridiculous

Seems to me that the enemy AI riflemen sometimes have super human target acquisition and aim. With the damage buff to all of the rifles, this can make for some frustrating moments. Anyone else seeing the same? I get that they needed to make enemy AI more competitive somehow but this really doesn’t do it and is kind of ridiculous at times.

Once I got inside a building without being notice. I flank an all squad of 9 people in front of the door, looking in a different direction.
I was happy when i saw it because I had my PPSh equiped and ready to burst 50 round at the 9 ennemy 10m away.

I killed 2 guys and injured 2 then die, One shot by a BA.

It must have been a bot. Because a real player wouldn’t have noticed me with 8 friendly between me and him in a direct line, by the time I fired 10 shots.

It’s was frustrating but is there realy something that can be done about it without nerfing too much the AI that is already, in most of case, not that great.

Its annoying but I’m glad that my bolt action shots kill more often now. I just equip more smoke grenades now to help with pushing into buildings, though I’m honestly not sure if it helps much against the AI.

Imo AI is in a good place in terms of lethality. You still can kill them rather easily but you have to use more hit&run tactics.
If you stay in the open for too long you will get sniped. But when you kill one or two enemies, hide, atack again you can last quite a bit.

Yeah I really enjoy how they have made AI more defensive when getting shot at. If you miss a bolt action shot in the middle of the open against a bot, you will likely die if you don’t dip in and out of cover.

Makes for more interesting fights compared to before when you could just sneak up on an unattended squad of AI and stab them all to death.

The only thing I would say is annoying about the new lethality of AI is the eyes in the back of their heads. Makes completing the knife X enemies challenges unnecessarily difficult simply by the AI always knowing you’ve snuck up behind them.

Use semi auto guns. Most of them will only down the enemy so you can melee them afterwards.

I thought it only counts the weapon that downed them as the weapon that killed them?

When you down a person, you get a kill even if someone else kills the downed enemy (as far as I know).
But the weapon that killed the enemy is the weapon that really killed the enemy, not the weapon that downed him.

Thanks to this you can for example get a LMG kill withouth ever using LMG.

Although I may be wrong. It’s hard to pay attention to such things during a battle.

You are correct in this statement. It will credit challenges even if you haven’t used it such as artillery kills, etc

That would be fine if the enemy AI weren’t decimating the rest of your squad while trying these tactics

The AI is fine, you just think they are ridiculous because you cant simply slaughter them so easily.

Sometimes the Super-Ai is anyoing, i.e., when I literally ran into the back of an enemy, pulling the trigger of my MP 40, the first bullet hits and the AI turned around and killed my before the second bullet was on the way. But overall I think it’s better with the improved AI, because they are a little less cannonfodder now and more useful. We just have to live with moments like this and they happen to everyone.
