Enable simultaneous smoke and artillery barrages (on team level, from different players)

Because of the low communication level in the game, it’s a bit annoying when a team member decides to bomb a random forest patch while you were plotting the smoke barrage. I just thought it would be useful to allow a team to use both smoke and HE strikes at the same time, from two different players.

To slow things down, you could in return add a separate smoke cooldown and increase the cooldown of smoke on team level a bit more (say double / triple of regular arty).

Yep agreed, especially on D day when some smooth brain decides to artillery the objective even though it’s inside a bunker and everyone gets shredded by MGs because I was blocked from dropping my smoke.

Yeah it’s such a buzzkill. “We’re pinned down and getting shot to pieces, I’ll help by dropping a smo… fuck you.”

Agreed, those newbie players always rush to call HE shelling, take up a lot of time, and rarely bring effective effects

Is because people withaut radio squad can use only the barrage, my opinion is give the smoke as normal attack and barrage usable only in radio squad

Or in Stalingrad, when someone calls the artillery strike and you have to wait for it for ~minute while desperately needing smoke to advance to the huge open Heroes square near Univermag.

That’s a bigger change, i wouldn’t be opposed to that but don’t necessarily feel that it needs to happen either. Could just as well give (also) smokes to all squads with radiomen.

In the meanwhile, having a different cooldowns and having the ability to fire one independent of the other would already be very sweet.
