Eliminate flavor text descriptions for equipment and vehicles

The in-game descriptions provided by the developers are not:

In lieu of these low-quality descriptions, which take up valuable space in the UI, they either be temporarily removed until they are satisfactorily made or permanently removed given that they offer no meaningful information pertinent to the gameplay.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and some screenshots provided apply to other categories, as well.

Vehicles are another can of worms

Sometimes you get a history lesson, sometimes you get a brief description of the gun, sometimes you get no description, and sometimes, the description is basically the gun being compared to something that already exists without any additional context.

So many spelling mistakes existing after years of work is just embarrassing, should be one of the easiest and first things to be patched, could even just run the text through a word processor or ChatGPT to fix any errors, no hiring a translator needed. Not that they shouldn’t use translators, but if the budget is a concern there are other options.

I suppose its better to just straight up remove it permanently. Let the stats describe the items.

Just remove the descriptions completely, they’re completely meaningless and look stupid more often than not. Whoever is in charge of writing them is incompetent

That’s the idea, yes.

Feels wrong to advertise Enlisted’s “Historical Accuracy” and have these low-effort descriptions at the same time.

“considered the best piston fighter” like really man? that’s it?

Even a short paragraph from the warthunder wiki would be better than this

They should’ve hire Ian McCollum to write a definitive description XD

they can’t even hire a good developer team member let alone Ian McCollum LOL

At this rate, they may as well make a basic summary of each gun that follows the exact same format.

But given their track record, I’d rather that the devs get rid of the description entirely.
