In the game, weapons that feature within multiple campaigns can be transferred between each other for bronze orders, rather then silver. Incentivizing transfers over new purchases to retain the more scarce silver orders.
To improve this system, gaijin should add a secondary unlock line, that runs parallel with the default campaign unlock line, which allows weapons that do not feature in the default campaign unlock for any given front, to be eligible to be transferred from fronts with unlock-campaigns with which those weapons are available to be unlocked.
For example the Czech v.24 which once unlocked in Moscow, could be purchased within that front, and then transferred over to other fronts once the player reaches a certain level of their eligible transfers line on the front they wish to transfer the weapon too. Fronts such as Berlin, Stalingrad, and Normandy would have the V.24 in their German eligible transfer line, where as the Tunisia line may not, given the rifle likely did not appear in the front. (From what I know)
Do to timeline, fronts like Moscow might have few eligible transfers, but other fronts which occur later would likely have multiple eligible transfers from Moscow. Volkstrum weapons will likely only remain in Berlin, weapons that only featured in one conflict, will still maintain the identity of each front, by not inaccurately being available in other.
This feature with minimal implementation (Being only a matter of UI and perhaps compatibility, no new sounds, assets or stats needed.), would allow so many weapons neglected due to their obsolescence compared with better alternative unlocked within the campaign unlock, find new life in other campaigns where the player holds more comparable armament, whilst incentivizing player to explore campaigns they typically neglect, in order to unlock weapons to transfer to their more favored fronts. As well providing a more general positive feedback from what feels like a general progression no matter the front the player decides to focus on at the time.
As well, this addition drastically increases diversity of accurate available weapons, while providing a more constant positive feedback within the player as each unlock becomes multiplied by it’s eligible use case. While also incentivizing the use of silver orders for early weapons, as even if they will become sooner obsolete then later acquired weaponry, instead of being fated to complete disuse, they can instead be sent to other fronts to bolster less developed forces. Further tieing the experience together rather then the feeling of the game being 5 different isolated experiences stitched together so loosely only by the main title screen.
Of course weapons that gaijin has already placed, or will likely place within premium squads, will not be available in the eligible transfers for that front. However, especially for those early bolt actions with now place at later levels, allowing them to be transferred, allows the developed content to continue to be utilized by the player, when appropriate, rather then be arbitrarily restricted. As well incentivize maintaining attachment with such weapons, knowing they may appear again, if not in the main campaign, as possible eligible transfers, for later fronts.
(If interest in the idea is shown, I’ve already begun mocking up a Battle-rating style spreadsheet of all weapons within the game, defining where each weapon would belong, in each fronts eligble transfer line, as it runs parallel with the fronts default campaign unlocks. Something which I could share here once completed.)
