Easy Tank BR changes that make sense

There are obviously tanks that are underperforming severely, because they are obsolete in their own BR, so some these should really be looked at.

Also in general, I really want to play more SPGs, but there is no point in doing it right now with many vehicles having a very bad BR placement, so howabout this:

  1. Jagdpanzer IV

all Jagdpanzer versions seem out of place, but the Jagdpanzer L48 is completely worthless.

It has the BR3 gun of a Panzer IV, while having only 60mm of armor, for a BR4 tank this is very poor.

My proposal here would be to buff its armor to 80mm instead of 60mm - which is what the real vehicle actually had in terms of armor protection anyways.

That way the tank would have poor firepower for BR4, but have pretty much Panthers frontal armor without a turret weakspot.

  1. SU85M

Unlike the regular SU 85, the M-version had stronger frontal armor of 75mm - which is pretty much useless at BR5, but rather decent at BR4.

In comparison with a possibly buffed Jagdpanzer IV L48, it would have a better gun, slightly worse armor and no MG - which seems already fair in BR4, though personally I think, a regular SU85 could be added to the game, because the regular versions had standard T34 armor of 45mm.

If placed in BR3 it would give soviets an early SPG with a very strong gun, but since it only would have standard T34 armor and no MG, it wouldn’t overperform.

  1. Tiger

Tiger have the curse of having an over appreciated gun, which has great post pen damage, but cant fight most BR5 vehicles reliably.

Panthers have better armor and better armor penetration, they could easily move to BR5 - maybe with some special ammo as a trade off.

Tigers however in general should sit in BR4, their armor isn’t strong enough to stop most guns of that BR, but also isn’t weak enough to be useless, if angled its survivability can be greatly increased, while still only having 100mm of flat frontal turret armor.

  1. STUG III F

Why pick a SPG that has less armor protection, no MG, and still only a BR3 gun of a Panzer IV?

It should straight up move to BR2, since it also only has 50mm armor like a BR1 Panzer III J

for the stugs, devs could add the stug 3f/8 variant which had mg near the gun itself or late war stug(1944) with the cast gun mantlet which means better protection

Late war Stugs make sense in BR3 - 80mm of armor without the Panzer IV turret weakspot.

Well there already is the premium Stug III G, but yeah, no MG.

Again, the regular unlock Stug III F has only 50mm of armor, its got a Br3 gun, BR1 armor and no MG.

It being a BR2 vehicle makes total sense.

Pretty sure we already had this debate, but it has 60mm of very sloped armor. There are not tank at BR3 that can go through its armor from the front.

I mostly agree with the rest though. Funnily enough there is already the Tiger H1 at BR4. Also the Sherman M4A2 76 should be at BR4 not (talking about the old one not the new Jumbo 76)

Which is exactly why it should get 80mm of armor, it would pretty much be a German Jumbo, bad gun at BR4, but great armor.

Well yes, but no sane person takes it over a Panther at BR4

I disagree, L70 is way better than you think and it can easily stay at BR5. Especially if panther is going to be move up to BR5.
You can penetrate everything, you have very low siluette, you have MG, you have good reverse speed (unlike Jagdpanther) and you can do this thanks to periscopes:

Very good and dangerous vehicle. And as owner of Jagpanther, I say this vehicle is at this moment better than JP.

But I agree the L48 version is at very poor spot rn

Well yeah, if the Panther moves to BR5 the Jagdpanzer IV L70 can stay there aswell.

Though, I disagree with your low silhouette claim.
I find it actually more often a disadvantage instead of a positive attribute, it greatly limits the positions you can fight effectively, especially City maps with lots of rubble.

The Jagdpanzer IV L70 has a MG, which however turns slower than its main gun, while also only having 500 rounds of ammo. These things should change for a start.

Well, that’s why I don’t play this tank on every maps. And I have more tanks in my lineup.
I don’t use paratroopers either when I play as defender.

It used to be complete trash, but I guess me spamming the forums like a parrot made the devs fix it.

Historically speaking I dare to say it was the most successful anti tank gun wielded on a tank. 88 long was overkill and had no real advantage over the L70.

Panthers could easily take out basically every ww2 tank from miles away.
