This warning only appears when you have already finished building the rally point.
So you have lost time and still have no rally point.
Please give this warning when you start to build, not when you are ready.
Just like when you try to build on uneven surface: you cant start to build and the warning is immediate.
Please
…what? The rally point is red and it says too close when you try to build one in the first place. If you’re sitting there hammering away the entire duration of a rally point and ignoring the red outline and message the entire time
Yeah it doesn’t do that with Spawn points though
Nah sometimes youre building and someone unbeknownst to you nearby has built one quicker and at the last moment you get that annoying message.
Just let DF implement this great suggestion, it wont ruin the game warning people beforehand and may even slightly increase the number of rally points in game.
Id also request a way to easily select rally points that are close to an APC. Many a time myself or someone else has built a rally, then some APC comes and parks nearby. On the select spawn map the APC blocks clicking that rally and it becomes unuseable.
I dont blame the APC because they arent to know where the rally is, plus a lot of maps there arent many good places to park an APC that is close enough to the frontline to be useful (Im thinking of some Tunisia maps for example where people use the same building for multiple spawns. Is it silly? Maybe but it happens and its not that hard for DF to fix the select spawn map.
No the warning only appears if you build too close to a default spawn - not a rally point.
Building two rallies next to each other is doable, and will increase the spawn rate (only showed as one rally on mini-map tho).
This problem, however, often occurs at the start of the game or when you’re about to set up a new rally point after an objective has been taken. You then have to wait 5-10 sec before the temporary spawns disappear and then you can build.
Why would you build a rally here anyway lol?
Yes it’s far away but I didnt do this without reason.
The enemy has taken A and B and is taking C.
We dont have any rally near A while we have several near B and C.
So I want a rally near A too.
If I build closer to A, it will be in the open area, where it will be destroyed.
If I build too close to A, the enemy will also destroy it.
So in this case I choose to build the rally far away and safe, so it will stay up for a long time, giving my team continuous access to A.
They just have to walk a bit.
