Early and late weapon variant

Greeting

today i want propose a way for bring certain gun in lower BR withaut force complicate solution, i want propose to use the “early” and “late” gun pattern already used on some gun

Like the type 100

Who have difference in rate of fire between the two version, the early version is BR2 and the late version is BR4

So, Lest take the ppsh41 as example

  • early drum variant: fire rate of 500 (600 maxed) a fine BR3 gun who can be countered easily by other german smg with the same firerate

  • late drum variant: Fire rate of 1000+ who actually is a end game gun who is countered by german assault rifle

So in this way player can use powerful common ww2 gun who in enlisted need be restricted in high BR due their high DPS, in lower BR using a less strong version one as sidegrade lower level unlock

This solution can be used to with good early war gun like the zk383 who is currently a BR4 gun and give more solid alternative for lower level player

early and late Type 100 variants with different rate of fire and other war time production changes actually existed. meanwhile PPSh always was a bullet hose so inventing fake reduced rof variant just because BRs aint that good and tearing any immersion apart and asymmetrical balance is too hard isnt really a good solution

The early variant of the PPSh-41 is already in game in form of the german MP-717.

having a huge 71 round drum magazin is still an advantage over 32 or 40 round, but that can be negated with longer reload time, so I think it should have at least 1,5 times longer reload than Mp40.

I think its a fairly good idea since Soviets have very few weapons in their assault branch. Especially BR1 and 3 of progression tree.

I think this is one of the biggest factors and a good candidate for getting gear into lower thresholds.

You could get stuff like the fedorov down into low BR by changing the reload to stripper clips (which was practice)

I dont mind the OP idea. Mainly after 3 MM queue though. And it would have to be more than ROF because imo, lower rate of fire can often be more preferable

Federov has by far the best TTK in this game, far better than any other competitor so I think that it deserves a nerf as it is.

If it was toned down to the MKb 35/III it could be in low br and still good.

Am i the only one that loves the mkb 35/III?

Its a reliable weapon for sure, BR2 might be a little low for it too, but its most definitely needed as long as Soviets have Pps43 and Pps42 on BR2.
MKb35/III served me well in Moscow, it had good range and damage, small mag was fine due to low rof which wasnt a problem because of low number of automatic weapons in Moscow campaign since most people only had 1 assaulter squad due to the second one being unlocked so late in the progression.

I think I also liked a combination of your old idea.

IMO Gold order weapons should be a way of getting slightly more powerful guns into a lower rating than their tech tree variants. Also limits how many you can see.

I like that approach. you could have a drum mag PPSH with lower rate of fire as a Gold order item???

@gastanofrizzi any chance that we could have MKb42(H) and MKb42(W) on BRIV based on your idea.
Just since Thompsons enjoy similar treatment, M1A1 was brought down to BR3 because its stupid to have all the Thompson on BRIV (the drum tommy is also an exception on BRV).

Coming from Fallout? XD

Interesting, but the problem in this specific example is that even the early versions of the PPSh had very high RoF, parkerised PPSh is an early one

That is true, but this is just a game.
The rules can always be bent for the players, as always just consider AS-44, a premium weapon was added to progression even though only one example of the gun existed.

Unfortunately I didn’t foresee it becoming useful in the future.

You didnt get it?

I was very practical with my gold order weapons, exclusively getting items that were at the time superior to end-game weapons. If they would let me I would happily drop a few thousand gold on them if they were brought back.

I went the other way. Got more of the pre war type weapons. (I found them interesting)

Certainly enjoying them atm

On one hand I don’t like artificially nerfed stats.
On the other hand many stats already don’t make sense. So I guess why not.
