Dual Mag Owen Gun, Dark Flow When?

Title is self explanatory.

Please see the picture below.

Comments on the Facebook page this picture came from stated that the dual mag Owen gun was created after trials in the field and that the Australian Army supplied joining clamps with wingnuts.

Unfortunately Google doesn’t seem to have much information on this but you can see the photograph right there and from my understanding this was not a one off soldier’s modification like the M2 Stinger for example.

The Americans don’t need this when they have to stinger with 200 rounds when it’s only supposed to have 100 in a box

But is the gun actually beeing feed from both mags or are they just joined together for a quick swap?

I would assume feeding from both mags because otherwise it would be pointless and a double mag would only intefere with sights more so yeah to me theyd only do it if it was more ammunition that could be fired at once.
66 rounds.

Dual Mag Owen, RIP your vision

Nice, I didn’t know this kind of modification existed. I see no problem with that being added, apart from the aforementioned vision problem.

The top of the magazines looks different, I’m pretty sure it’s a quick switch system as suggested by others, still it’d be a good addition.

It definitely looks like a quick switch set up, not two mags being fed at the same time. Basically the same as taping two magazines together.

quick google and i only found double mag mp40

further into it i found this on wiki

The practice of “jungle style” magazines originated in World War II for the M1 carbine,[2] M3 “Grease Gun”,[3] and Thompson submachine gun.[4] Audie Murphy, one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of World War II, was reported to have utilized taped M1 carbine magazines.[5]

Thompson submachine gun users frequently taped two 20-round magazines together to speed reloads and compensate for the limited capacity. This spurred official development of the 30-round Thompson magazine, which included the experiment of welding two 20-round magazines face-to-face (dropped in favor of the 30-round magazine). The United Defense M42 submachine gun was occasionally issued with two 20-round magazines welded face-to-face.[6]

Taping magazines together in order to speed up reloading became so common among troops using the M1 Carbine that the U.S. military experimented with the “Holder, Magazine T3-A1”, which came to be referred to by some infantrymen as the “Jungle Clip”. This metal clamp holds two M1 Carbine 30-round magazines together without the need for tape.

so it seems like it is 2 magazine clamped/welded for ease of reload.

It is clearly 2 mags tied together for a quick swap - nothing unique to the Owen at all.

Same logic yes - but unrelated issues

BR5 guns dont disqualify BR2 guns

When we have the concept of body armor and arbitrary numbers of the devs make up nothing makes sense anymore especially for when it only seems to apply for the Soviets and the allies.

And if you’ve even seen the new BP weapon for Germany which was leaked we only can fire that weapon if we’re lying down prone or bipod while every other faction gets away with their own nonsense And we also gave up the Shop for faster BP seasons And that was supposed to mean everyone got this stuff equally fast but yet for some reason Germany and Japan were always magically delayed or things always went wrong with us but when it comes to the Soviets or the allies they always get their stuff on time.

Isnt that just like the Japanese AT rifle?

Yes but the Japanese one has no restrictions while this one does and this new mechanic is being tested in the test server and it only seems to apply to the Germans when we’ve had our stuff held back for who knows how long and yet we’re still being tested and not even giving cool toys to have fun with

Okay, but what else would you give BR1 Germany as an AT weapon?

What anti-tank weapon would I give Germany for 1 BR? I would give this - “PZB M.SS.41” to the tech tree, as it was mass produced and used quite massively and was also officially in service.

I saw videos of this in the past so yes this would work. @GeneralBrus

And what I would have expected from the BP would be something like the RMN 50 that the Soviets have that we already have in the mod editor.

But stinger is BRV and Owen is not that good.

Personally i would really like to see something like this for an event or something
