Droptank in Pacific is fun but useless

Before calling for heavy buffs, I should say that I don’t remember having been on the receiving end, so I can’t tell how it’s like to get one dropped on my head currently.

From a pilot’s perspective, it could probably use a +50-100% area of effect increase AND instant ignition of any soldier inside the range of the initial blast.

well that is what i was saying by instant fire damage it should do immediate damage not 1.5 seec after

But it’s easier to slap 1.5s delay on fire damage, than actually fixing flamethrowers killing through wall.

Same bullshit as semi-autos having reduced ROF for no reason.

I could live through rare weapons being everywhere, but lately magic planes and stupid shit like above is killing any realism this game had

This is unrelated as flamerthrowers bypass the 1.5 second rule for fire. Any hit with the flame will set you on fire.

They don’t seem to drop like regular bombs either. Always seem to land short of where a normal bomb would.

Nah flamethrowers still don’t work like they used to

That ship is long sailed, actually sink and destroyed long ago

Pretty sure pouring fuel on anything and even water can set them on fire instantly, the Devs can’t balance a crap and whatever they do hurt the game more and more

The drop tank need to be treated like fuel soaking on the ground, long burn time, high damage in direct hit and less damage when walk into it briefly, and I dunno what the hell they are smoking but fuel doesnt stop burning on top of the water, they are lighter than water and they float on top of it

The drop tank has utility, the utility is just very niche within Enlisted. Having no real splash damage to speak of but good area denial power makes the drop tanks very good at sealing off chokepoints, the problem being you need good intelligence to know where the enemy is exactly because of the lack of splash damage and the lack of hard chokepoints on many objectives(for good reason). There’s also the fact that, as an area denial weapon, it’s sort of designed to not get kills by making the enemy go away from an area. Useful for the team in many cases, but you won’t get many points outright from them.

Yesterday I got hit TWICE by japanese droptanks and didnt die once, not even injured badly.
The flames do next to no damage and I just walk through the “denial weapon”.

Your assertion is that a new bomb type first sold on premium squads should not be effective unless played in a stack?

True colors. I’m pretty speechless.
