Downtier TDs (Marder III (H), Stug III F, Ho-Ni III + I, M10 GMC, SU-85 & M18 GMC, etc.)

Overall I think that many TDs in the game are over tiered - you often get the same gun as current BR tanks, just with shittier protection and no turret. Great.

Their function should be more to give lower BRs more firepower at the cost of protection / utility to deal with uptier tanks. Therefore lets adjust them down:

Axis:
Marder III (H) - Great gun, trash protection. Is fine to down to Br 2.
Stug III F - Gun is comparable to BR 3 tanks of Pz IVF2+, therefore it can go on BR 2.
Ho-Ni III - BR 2.
M10 GMC - Terrible turret traverse, open top. Br 2.
M18 GMC - Down to BR 3. Paper thin armor.
SU-85 - Down to BR 3. Same gun as all 3 other BR IV soviet tanks, gives BR 3 a better chance against uptier.
Ho-NI I - Down to BR 1. Open topped, also with hopefully upcoming USSR-JP, gives BR 1 JP more chance to pen BR 2 USSR tanks.

Don’t forget about Na-to BR3 → BR2

And APCR round count need to lowered and HE increased

Flak 88 should go to BR3 as it has even worse pen than Dickermax, it’s Anti air gimmick doesn’t work with it’s crappy timed proximity rounds.

SU-85 was already moved down from BR5.
Don’t be fooled, it is better armoured than T-34-85.

Same here, this was BR4 and is now BR3 which is reasonable, lowering it to BR2 would let it bully BR1 tanks, no thanks.

The rest is reasonable.

Not sure I like that.
It is completely immune to the long 50mm and infantry AT at BR 2.
Even if you bring the marder or stug it they would only be able to pen the lower front plate.

So if that is permited then the jagdpanzer IV should also be atleast BR 3, but by your logic it could be BR 2 aswell because gun only BR 3… But It would be a pain in a the ass for everyone involved which is why it is in BR 4 currently.

Are you sure? StuG G has strong frontal armour and A can spam 75mm HE and HEAT.

Don’t see the problem with the A going down to BR 1. The gun is the only thing that is good. Especially now that the PZ 4 E & F1 are getting HEAT.

Please make an individual topic rather than suggesting multiple br changes at the same time, this makes it hard to know what players agree with, as seen in the comments

Yeah, it’s not good idea to put it to BR3.

Sadly, devs has decided to put more armored M variant to the game for whatever reason. Standard version could easily be placed to BR3.

Anything with a proper HE shell can easily 1 shot an open-topped tank.
Most BR1 tanks don’t have so I disagree with BR1 Ho-Ni I. (unless give it no normal HE like the Italian TD)
Stug and M10 would be good with a down-tier.
Also with those Jadgpanzer IV series.

Agree everything except the SU-85 and M10 GMC. Marder III (H) should always have been br 2, there’s barely any difference with the previous marder in its progression line other than the armor covering the sides

Lol because that was added to Berlin when campaign system is still a thing? If dev added normal su85 instead of the m version. You would say why dev added the version with less armour when there is better version available.

Not like that’s somewhat relevant. Since starter tank for Berlin was T-34/85 (the worse version) - but still a superior vehicle to SU-85M.

It was just a grind filler since day one of its existence.

to complete the proposal: all stugs can be downtiered by 1 br, theyre all unplayable currently. that affects both premium ones, the TT (& BP one) and the stug4 variants currently collecting dust in BR4.

american & jap TDs also are in a miserable BR prison. only the soviets have their TDs mostly properly placed (what a surprise :clown_face:)

That because we dont have SU85 in the game yet, that one has 45mm of sloped armor and would fit perfectly into BR3

No STUG F has 50mm armor, STUG G has 80mm.

Also STUG F has the slightly weaker L43 gun.

Its totally ridiculous that people are afraid of STUG F moving to BR2 its got the same armor as Panzer III J - which is BR1.
