This might seem contradictory, but considering not upgrading your machine guns. Upgrading them does not decrease recoil unlike other firearms but they increase fire rate, which in turn increases the recoil. It also means you empty out your magazine quicker.
Unfortunately, this means you won’t get the damage upgrade, however you can still mow down hordes of enemies.
Me personally, I leave my machine guns at one star. However, some machine guns, particularly ones with low recoil, might benefit from all upgrades: such as the Type 96.
I understand your point and it makes sense I just love my mg as fast firing as possible, thought I use them in very short controlled bursts when standing, and try to use them with bipods (when they work, eheheh) as often as possible which removes the recoil anyway
I feel like firerate for MGs is a highly on personal preference depending topic, so even tho his argument seems ridiculous - if he likes his gun slower, it is non the less understandable from his perspective.
I couldn’t care less about some minmax tips. On the other hand, making sure I have everything maxed and fully upgraded is one of the last things people like me have left to grind.
It sucks so badly. Having nothing to grind in a grind-based game.
I too have unlocked everything for a while now. So I switched my expectations from “I’ll unlock that new thing next, it will wreck!” To “oh, I haven’t touched that bizzare non meta piece in a while, I’ll take it for a spin, for the fun of it!”
I’m rediscovering stuff I either overlooked or forgot about.
(I felt very stupid for forgetting how great is the Fiat fighter, a few days ago).
It’s a way to still enjoy the game, at least for me. Hopefully it helps.
It all depends on the machine gun that you’re using: Some can be upgraded, some can’t (beyond the first level). Some of them require the horizontal recoil control perk, others the vertical perk. You really need to test them individually on the range to determine what they need.
