Don't Remove Explosive Packs... Instead Convert Them

TLDR: Add these throwable tank destroying items that can not kill infantry: (Panzerwurfmine - Satchel Charge Bag - RPG-43 for German, American/British, and Russian factions respectively.)

Convert TNT into a timed fuse that can not be thrown. TNT becomes a booby trap explosive that does x2 damage of normal grenades with x3 blast radius. TNT can also be placed onto tanks for instant kills after a 3-5 second animation of placing it and waiting its timer out.

I made a video about this idea if you would like to watch it instead of read it, I guess.

H35 magnetic mine too would be cool for moscow and berlin

Hafthohlladung would be a good addition also, I agree.

I spent so much on TNT…

I really would be pissed of if they would be converted into something “not throwable”…

Nope!

well get your bronze orders back then, dont limit the progress of the game on"what you have spent"

Just keep the explosive packs there good against the onslaught of tanks and mass infantry >w>

Honestly don’t see why people hate them so much. If you make a big change like that its going to piss a lot of existing players off.

The only problem, is choosing a normal grenade makes no sence in this game.

I do still support the idea of making them a plant item on tank armor only and not a trowable nade.

how about instead of TNT for everyone:

-bundle grenade for infantry = as an upgraded grenade that also deals dmg to vehicles (weaker TNT but with more range)

-HEAT grenades and hollow charges for AT soldiers = the best AT equipment, throwable and good dmg vs tanks but little dmg vs infantry

  • regular TNT for Pioneers = basically the same

Increase kill radius of frag grenades, add a secondary range for frags that cant kill but only wound due to less shrapnel.

Dynamite should only kill not far from the explosion because it’s only concussive explosion and not shrapnel.

Just make it usable only by AT and Engineer Soldiers.

I don’t see the problem with explosives packs. They have less throw range than grenades, which is why my assault troops carry one of each. For anti-tank and anti-infantry flexibility. Just because a handful of people spam them, why punish everyone else that spent good silver on them? I’m fairly certain grenade spam happened in the war too when taking hardened positions.

Because the throwing range is compensated by the insane ammount of range it has due to much higher damage than regular grenades

Well of course it does more damage, it’s got more explosives in it. I think a good idea would be to buff the regular hand-grenade since fragmentation sleeves were implemented to simulate the shrapnel better, while maintaining a smaller AoE - just more damage within that area for infantry. I dunno, I’m not a coder, so I don’t know how well that could be implemented, but I don’t like seeing things needlessly nerfed in general

Dynamyte produces no shrapnel, it uses insane ammounts of preassure.

It woulnt work well outside, but indors or on tanks they did work good.

As someone who has messed around with explosive pressure as a kid, I’d argue that it really does work well. Not as well, but well enough to hurt a lot days later. And that was nothing even comparable to dynamite.

I see your point; I just think it’d be better to make sure that hand grenades are more viable by buffing their damage. After all, tanks are outside so how much sense would it make for an explosive pack to destroy a tank, but leave the guy five feet away perfectly hale and healthy?

Because they dont produce shrapnel making them very ineffective in outdoors

Honestly just make them be placabe and add proper AT grenades for more easy AT purposes

So because there’s no shrapnel, he’s immune to getting his organs hammered by the force of a massive explosion going off a few feet from him? It hurt standing next to pressurized aluminum gas canisters exploding. I can only imagine the bigger boom of an actual explosive would’ve been lethal. That force isn’t going to kill a tank under all of it’s steel armor and just tickle the guy’s skin next to it.

I like this idea better than removing them. This way all of the other grenades get a reason to be used.
