TLDR: Add these throwable tank destroying items that can not kill infantry: (Panzerwurfmine - Satchel Charge Bag - RPG-43 for German, American/British, and Russian factions respectively.)
Convert TNT into a timed fuse that can not be thrown. TNT becomes a booby trap explosive that does x2 damage of normal grenades with x3 blast radius. TNT can also be placed onto tanks for instant kills after a 3-5 second animation of placing it and waiting its timer out.
I don’t see the problem with explosives packs. They have less throw range than grenades, which is why my assault troops carry one of each. For anti-tank and anti-infantry flexibility. Just because a handful of people spam them, why punish everyone else that spent good silver on them? I’m fairly certain grenade spam happened in the war too when taking hardened positions.
Well of course it does more damage, it’s got more explosives in it. I think a good idea would be to buff the regular hand-grenade since fragmentation sleeves were implemented to simulate the shrapnel better, while maintaining a smaller AoE - just more damage within that area for infantry. I dunno, I’m not a coder, so I don’t know how well that could be implemented, but I don’t like seeing things needlessly nerfed in general
As someone who has messed around with explosive pressure as a kid, I’d argue that it really does work well. Not as well, but well enough to hurt a lot days later. And that was nothing even comparable to dynamite.
I see your point; I just think it’d be better to make sure that hand grenades are more viable by buffing their damage. After all, tanks are outside so how much sense would it make for an explosive pack to destroy a tank, but leave the guy five feet away perfectly hale and healthy?
So because there’s no shrapnel, he’s immune to getting his organs hammered by the force of a massive explosion going off a few feet from him? It hurt standing next to pressurized aluminum gas canisters exploding. I can only imagine the bigger boom of an actual explosive would’ve been lethal. That force isn’t going to kill a tank under all of it’s steel armor and just tickle the guy’s skin next to it.
