I’ve heard ppl telling me about it. Basically there’s some truth in it. ZB26 and FG42/II share the same RPM, and ZB26 has even lower written recoil, but I just don’t find ZB26 that good.
To what extent is this saying accurate?
The ZB is a MG, and as such it suffers from movement penalty and increased dispersion when moving. Plus ZB actual recoil is higher compared to the FG42 II (FG has an actual recoil of 20/7 while ZB has 32/18).
FG is definitely better than ZB; ZB is a good BR2 MG but it is certainly not as good as FG42 II
It’s a poor comparison since they aren’t even the same weapon class.
Ingame recoil stats are wrong.
FG42 II Recoil: 20/7
ZB26: 32/18
So not only does it have (about) twice more actual recoil, but it also suffers from movement penalty.
Note. ZB also has slightly worse dispersion, with 0.37, while FG44 has 0.32 to 0.35, depending on the model, but it still suffers from a movement penalty.
The sight on the ZB is not that good compared to the FG42 2 sight
