Does DF Hate console players?

From my observations and after hearing some opinions from console players in Enlisted, it seems there is a noticeable level of hostility or disdain towards them, often referred to as ‘cosoloids.’ This sentiment appears to stem from a variety of factors, including performance discrepancies between console and PC players, as well as concerns regarding the limitations imposed by the console’s hardware and interface. These disparities are often amplified by the perceived imbalance in competitive gameplay, where console players may struggle to match the precision and responsiveness offered by PC setups. Additionally, the support for custom games on consoles is severely lacking, leading to a diminished experience for players seeking a more tailored gameplay environment. The lack of robust support for modding and custom game modes, which are typically more accessible on PC, further exacerbates the frustration among console users. These issues, coupled with the growing divide in community opinions, contribute to an increasingly polarized gaming environment.

Does DF hate console players?

No.

Do PC players hate console players?

That answer is less clear.

Instead of fueling division, wouldn’t it be better to focus on improving crossplay balance and making the game fun for everyone?

The platform shouldn’t matter as much as fair gameplay and a strong community.

Who’s fuelling division? Crossplay is working as intended as far as I can see.

No, but console gamers hate themselves. Otherwise they would not have been console gamers in the first place.

Not everyone can afford decent PC thats why consoles are chose. I dont hate myself so thats a wild take.

The division comes from the perception that console players are treated unfairly, whether through balance, controls, or community attitudes. If crossplay is working as intended, then why do so many console players feel otherwise?

Im not arguing btw just conversation and curiosity.

Consoles have to use controllers. Controllers are not as efficient as M/K. DF have already put M/K support for consoles on their roadmap, so hopefully some console players will find it easier when fighting against PC users.

I don’t know what you mean about balance though. They have the same weapons and vehicles as PC players.

Community attitudes though have always been, and always will be divided. Sometimes to the point of abuse (from either side). It’s an age-old debate like Playstation v XBox, Spectrum v C64, Atari v Amiga. Nothing will ever change there. Where there’s a gamer, there’s an opinion.

Not a valid end argument because with a low end laptop I can still play the game without a GPU and still having 60 FPS on minimalist

As long as you can afford to buy console, you can easily afford PC that would run Enlisted very decently.

EDIT: nwm, I keep forgetting this game still supports old gens.

*So as long as you can afford current gen consoles.

This is true. Enlisted runs on the most potato of PCs.

I get that controllers have limitations compared to M/K, and it’s good to hear that support is coming. But balance isn’t just about having the same weapons and vehicles—it’s also about aim assist, input delay, and matchmaking. If console players are consistently at a disadvantage in crossplay lobbies, that’s a problem.

As for community attitudes, sure, platform debates will always exist, but that doesn’t mean devs shouldn’t address legitimate concerns. If a significant part of the player base feels underserved, that’s worth looking into rather than dismissing as just ‘gamers having opinions.

How come PC can do things in custom games console players cant

We have gear match making that work great the majority of the time

They can create custom game because sony and playstation don’t want console to have possible malicious code insert from outsource

Today and yesterday my posts got trolled because 2 people didnt like a suggestion i made to. Which was very unfair more likely im an inferior console player

Aim assist is a pro-console thing. Input delay is an external factor. It depends on network connectivity and wifi controllers etc. PC players can still suffer those effects, so it isn’t balanced against console players exclusively.

I don’t see console players at a massive disadvantage in crossplay, as mentioned above, they have aim-assist, which can be infuriating when playing against them as a PC player.

Do you want to end crossplay completely? I can’t see how that would be good for the game as a whole.

No I want it improved on console.

I didn’t get that impression.

A large portion of console players are literal kids and teenagers that suck at PVP games. This is why console players have a bad name. Just look at the US faction. Its full of console players and a massive portion of those console players are probably kids/teens from the US that want to shoot the M1 Garand during the D-Day invasion just like their grand pappy supposedly did.
