As we all know, matchmaking in this game is totally fucked. So do something. There are soooo many solutions. I know some will say the merger is near but how near? They say it was going to be april and then july and then when? december? next january? or maybe they will just cancel merger because they are going to abandon this game.

Most probably at the end of this battle pass since the battle pass are not compatible with new currency and the merge is the only thing left on roadmap column 2.
They never announced the exact date for the merge.

But how will the merge fix matchmaking in the first place. The only thing it will really do is make sure all humans are thrown into a single matchmaker.
I don’t think we should rush this major update. There are a lot of different factors at play and it’s better they take time because it’s a game of tug of war when thr devs have to work and we have to debate and give our feedback. We should take our time
I think the first thing they should do is not introduce BR and instead just have all campaigns in a single matchmaker pool we can see how completely full matches work in the current system
That’s not quite the extent of what it will do, but that by itself would still fix the primary issue; faction stacking.
What even are those matchmaking problems everyone talks about? I find matches just fine.
Often in many campaigns all the humans are playing on one side so it could be 10v2 humans with bots filling in the rest so one team consistently gets rolled.
Honestly I think the better solutions vs the merge would be:
1 - Remove the “Play as any team” checkbox and have that be the only option so every match is balanced with humans rather than all humans opting to play as one side. The option is great, but the results are biased.
2 - Improve the AI. The reason the matchmaking has issues is because of a small player base and there is no doubt in my mind that many people play the game for an hour, see how catastrophically dumb the AI are, then go play a different game.
I really like the separate campaigns and would prefer they stay that way. The merge solves a problem that would go away if they focused on fixing the problems everyone talks about which would help retain current and new players.
