Do NOT Give Japan the M2 Carbine, Instead

It is entirely fictional, even by this game’s standards, to give Japan a captured sawed off M2 Carbine. The M2 Carbine entered service around 1945 and was only used in limited numbers during the last months of the war. It is extremely unlikely Japan would’ve managed to get their hands on a M2 and even modify one such a way

I don’t have any issue with capture content as long as there is proof and evidence.

However it is true and documented that Japan did at least capture some M1 Carbines and modify them in such a way, supposedly automatic as well

Before this update drops, do not give Japan this fictional sawed off M2, instead give them a M1 instead. Note that yes this gun is going to just have the standard 15 round magazine of the M1.

Correct it before the update. There’s still time

Yeah I dont know why do we need it even performance wise is worse then type 100 we better get SIG KE-7 with 50 rounds in BR IV thats something people will love to use.

SIG Ke 7 Japan

With the Japanese modifications for the muzzle brake will be nice weapon that is not a prototype that Japan actually used. 50 rounds BAR is very interesting addition to Japan.

I would rather choose Fedorov, at least it uses the same 6.5mm bullet as Japan, M2 is too weird for me, it makes people feel that this game is developing towards Battlefield 5.
Or KE7, I support Emperor Yoshiro’s point of view, KE7 is a very potential weapon, it can be competent for assault rifles and even automatic rifles, not just machine guns

The sawed off is kinda unplayable in its current state so IDK why anyone would want to use it.

I’d like this post if I had any left to use. Have one here in this comment instead.

Yeah, there’s no basis for Japan to get this weapon, and even so who would actually use it apart from as a meme weapon? I play a lot of Japan, I’ll never use it.

This would make my mouth water.

Well the Chinese variant with 20 rounds and hole design was also used by Japan so it can be given as a rifle for BR V and will fit nicely since you can put LMG SIG KE 7 50 rounds and rifleman squads with SIG KE 7 with 20 rounds will look good

Did you know that Japan never actually captured a Fedorov Avtomat? The widely circulated photo was actually an intelligence illustration drawn by Japanese information agencies.

Well, upon searching it does say that the Japanese did use captured M1 and M2 Carbines in the war, although in a limited capacity. So, I think it’s ok to give them to the Japanese faction, especially based on DF very liberal gun faction exchange programs they seemed to have implemented.

My first thought was, why give the Japanese an American sawed off M2 to the Japanese when they’re not giving it to the Allies. However, upon searching, I see it says that the US NEVER used sawed off M2’s, so, hence I found my answer.

That being said, I think this captured weapon thing is getting a little out of hand, especially if they end up in the TT. It’s killing off a lot of the iconic most commonly used weapons of the war, like the MP40 for example.

I had proposed a couple times that players be allowed to pick up and keep X amount of enemy weapons off the battlefield. So after a game for example your playing as a Level five German and during the game you picked up an M2 Stinger, their should be an option at the end of the game of adding it to your inventory. I would make it so you could only keep one of that weapon so your not adding Stingers to your inventory game after game, and I would have a total limit as to how many captured guns you could have so your not filling out your entire German rifle squads with T-20’s.

We’ll leave this for Christmas.
