I rather see Ho Ri II being added than Japanese Tiger
How was it part of the Japanese Army if it never left Germany?
There were exactly 0 Japanese Tiger tanks.
Really hope so.
Best news of the day, mate.
I don’t have a picture of Japanese attache sent to Germany ATM but here is a picture of attache sent to Hungary.
The attache is part of the Imperial Japanese army or did you think these guys are Hungarians?
Japanese attache possessed the Tiger tank and used it as well (for testing, but that doesn’t matter here).
Not panzerFaust but I think you guys remember that Japan bought 6 STGs well they bought bunch of panzeschreck as well for studying purpose
They test drove one, it was never part of the Japanese army as it never even left Germany.
Japanese army is not limited to Japan’s territory only.
Any soldier under Japanese flag is an official Japanese soldier in the service of the Emperor.
Regardless of place.
That’s damn good idea and also there was a variant of that which was planned to have 12 cm cannon and a sloped armor but that was just on paper like most E tank series
I’m sure paper is the future, but there will probably be some kind of seperating or at least I hope there will be…
Though these officers only tested the tank never went to fight with the tank Japan bought the tank and leased it back to Germans but they also bought the blueprints and the officer im guessing were to train new crew in case something similar to the Tiger was made in Japan(Funny thing 645k Reichmark was the price that Japan paid while the cost of the production of tank was 300K I guess that was the export price for foreign countries
Edit: During research I found something interesting Imma quote the source here
"Вместе с “Тигром” японцы хотели переправить и один танк “Пантера”. "
Translation = Along with the Tiger, the Japanese wanted to transport one Panther tank.
Does that mean Japan also bought a panther tank? Might be possible
2nd edit= Oh I found something interesting
" Тигром Японцы планировали приобрести танк Пантера."
Japanese were planning to purchase a Panther .
And it seems they purchased the Panther my source says here
“Однако к этому моменту из-за ухудшения военной ситуации отправка танка в Японию стала невозможной даже при помощи подводных лодок, Тигр вместе с Пантерой вернули на склад в ожидании дальнейших указаний со стороны Японцев.”
However, by this time, due to the deteriorating military situation, sending the tank to Japan became impossible even with the help of submarines; the Tiger, along with the Panther, was returned to the warehouse to await further instructions from the Japanese.
That mean Japan purchased a panther Interesting
Ambassador of Japan to the Henschel plant, Panther in the background
They kinda did own that one tiger but it was just stranded somewhere else outside of Japan.
This situation suprisingly similar to how people want to add prototype gear that never left the USA for the frontline in europe where the fighting took place.
Current pacific maps are irritating to drive tanks on at best of times, and that’s with the relatively small Japanese tanks, adding a tiger tank would just be painful, regardless of how much sense it would make
Yeah it was always in Germany.
I linked the source in the original message.
That doesn’t mean any vehicle the Japanese army touches becomes “officially part of the Imperial Japanese army”.
It was never part of their army.
It never left Germany.
Yep, Japan bought a Panther D.
Japan also bought a Panzer III.
No Germany did not rip off its ally, the price included all necessary fuel, spare parts, maintenance, training and taking apart the tank for transport (which never happened as Japan couldn’t fit it in a submarine).
then switch JP maps name berlin 1,2,3,4,5 problem solved.
Unless it was bought by kindergarden im quite sure it was part of army.
Then we bring germany to pacific.
Berlin 1,2,3,4,5,6
pretty sure they ripped the Japan since the model they were going to send was a command tank waiting for refitting and not a new tiger the price seems fair for 92 round 4500 round of MG and bunch of other stuff like radio and optic + transportation cost also to my understanding the Germans used the tank without permission and only got the permission on 1944 and by that time the tank was already destroyed
I agree Tiger has no place with Japanese faction.
I really hope its a fake joke.
Anyone who thinks the Japanese should get a Tiger tank is insane.
My suggestion is why the hell is Japan going to BR V anyway? Cant fill the tree without ignoring history and common sense? Then dont make the damn tree that big!!!
Should we give Japan the atomic bomb as well???
The BS prototypes need to stop. And as others have said for this case the Tiger (and Panther) never even left Germany.
It would be like saying Germany should get the Spitfire because someone in the Luftwaffe asked Goering for a squadron of them.
I really wish the Pacific could go back to pre merge style when it comes to tanks. Heavy tanks are inappropriate for pacific both historically and in terms of map design.
Someone else mentioned this, its hard enough driving around Pacific maps in tiny Japanese tanks let alone big German (or American ones).
I believe there should be a cap on tanks in Pacific at say, BR III. Shermans were used after that we shouldnt have big tanks in Pacific.
I didn’t know that.
I do think that the price is reasonable for what it offered, disassembling and reassembling a tank 9000 km away takes specialised crew, tools and resources that don’t come cheap especially if you consider that Germany could have just used them to produce more Tiger tanks for himself.
It’s funny that Germany ended up still using everything, but they were willing to hold their end of the bargain.
Tigers are better than coffins and can be destroyed head-on by bazookas
Lame excuse, if you think it is painful just don’t use it, it is not like you are forced to use it.
US with larger tank than Japan are still using tank in Pacific, so why US can do it but for Japan is unacceptably painful?
Moreover it is not like Japan doesn’t have large size vehicles in game, for example the ho-ri and ka-chi.
