Title kinda says it all, I wanna upgrade my SVT 38, because I have heard the SVT-40 is not worth buying and just to upgrade the 38. But I cant, since I have no exp in a squad which I have never even TOUCHED. So it there a way to bypass that, gain exp for upgrading the SVT-38?
Also curious what is the difference between the 38 and 40 models.
This is the most painful experience in this game: upgrading squads.
Even veterans that have been playing this game since day one also suffer from this design.
My advice: check multiple squads in the squad upgrades section!
SVT-38 was in 2 campaigns: Moscow and Stalingrad.
The Stalingrad squad was engineer I which should be faster to upgrade.
Also its worth unlocking upgrades on legacy squads first because you can save those upgrade points on the tech tree squad to use later when a new weapon is added so you can max upgrade said when the moment its added without having to play for hours to get the squad upgrade point first.
This post gave me a thought:
The current system’s pros are, all the upgrades are tied to a squad, meaning you don’t have to play the equipment to level it up (so you can level up Rifle III FG 42 squad with Riflemen I and Mannlichers). The con is, you have to play the squad to unlock the upgrades (so if you have an interest in FG 42 but not Rifle III, you still have to play Rifle III).
An alternative system would be all the upgrades being independent: pro, you don’t have to play a squad first to level equipment up (avoiding 0 level squads if you don’t need another one), con, you now have to play the equipment to level it up (so, for example, 1-star soldiers or 0-star guns).
happens when i am rushing into the cap and bot “has” aim on enemy, but i am in between enemy and bot. it is really frustrating and that is why i usually scatter it amongst few squads.
