I can’t tell you how many times I’ve added a cool player to my “friends” list.
I also can’t tell you who they are - because we’ve never been able to talk to eachother again.
The only way to resume a conversation one is having with a b a s e d comrade or ally after the match is to squad-up with them (assuming you have the time to do this right then and there, and assuming both of you see it and choose to accept), join a new game, and then start chatting publicly just like you were before - which is pretty much, well, not different at all! Certainly not a DM.
This needs to change. I’m confident the Enlisted team has probably already been working on a DM function for some time - perhaps it’s on the back-burner. Perhaps they are trying to mitigate post-match angry messaging at people from your team who won’t do their jobs during matches, or toward enemy players who completely own you and make you feel so butthurt you’d think you sat on a cactus with a personnel mine sticking off the top.
We’ve all been there. I’m still picking the shrapnel out from some of these matches…
But we also meet a lot of cool and interesting people in this game, and it’s really hard to keep in touch after the match. I have to offer-up my personal Discord username, and hope they even have Discord or are willing to go through the pain in the a** of finding and adding friends there (which is remarkably non-intuitive, despite the amount of time it’s been out - but I digress).
And finally, yes - there are always the forums. And I have tried reaching-out to people that way. But believe it or not, not every Enlisted player is as cool as we are, and a lot of them have not even setup their Forum account yet. Some may not even know it exists.
So I submit to you - let us DM people privately in-game. It would be awesome, and it would be red-pilled. And we could further help red-pill others as a result.
I also support Putin’s involvement in Ukraine if that helps, I’m not sure, but just let the devs know for me, please?
