I like that too, but other things in the game would have to be different to accommodate that, such as much larger and wider combat areas and objective areas
much longer times between re arming
but that could just be a different game, where there is also an escort system so an actual aerial battle can take place before the bombs have a chance to drop
No it really doesn’t, no plane flies like a plane they fly like boats
Probably? You really have to try to actually make the plane spin out or stall in my experience. But on the other hand i kind of like it, with WSAD keys basically applying full control throw blindly you’d rip your plane in half
I think the only bug there might be is that your mass does not get updated properly when you drop ordnance.
And every plane always basically has 100% fuel load. (Since rearming gives your full fuel anyway)
Im not sure what other games you are comparing to (Battlefield UFOs?), but most of the CAS planes in the game are supposed to be anvils with brick wings.
The Stuka was basically unable to operate at all with any opposition, IL2’s were notoriously underpowered (although their lower wing loading lets them at least stay afloat and turn with low-ish speed.
The BF110 started as a heavy fighter and basically was relegated to night fighting/ground attack because it was unable to deal with single engine fighters. Every other two engined CAS plane in the game was even less maneuverable IRL than the 110 was.
The P47 is a CAS plane too, loaded with more ordnance than almost any other ground attack option in the game. It’s a tungsten anvil, but it will turn just fine, as long as you keep your speed up. But it simply doesn’t have enough power/weight to do more than a few turns before its on the verge of stalling out. It cannot and is not supposed to win against actual fighters.
As for fighters, most of them, especially later models, need energy. If you get below 300 with no altitude (unless you just fought some prolonged dogfight) you are doing something wrong. So many people I see never even build up any energy and then they are surprised their plane literally has trouble staying afloat when they start doing full-control-throw horizontal turns
I’m comparing it to war thunder the game i literally mentioned, the zero in war thunder turns on a dime the zero in enlisted turns like b17, actually it might turn worse than a b17 from war thunder
