Context
Ever since I started playing Enlisted, I had a pretty good feel about it. I liked the visuals, gun play, etc.
But I always felt like something was always missing from the game which was dismemberment for guns.
Main Topic
I’ve played most games and seen tons of WW2 films, and certain graphic pictures of the aftermath of both Allied and Axis soldiers bodies in the aftermath of getting shot by particularly machine guns.
Film References, Games, And Weapon Types
If you’ve seen the starting bit for Saving Private Ryan, you can visibly see how some of the Allied soldier’s limbs are dismembered after getting shot at by MG42s. The same visuals are also seen in the D-DAY campaign mission from Call Of Duty: WW2.
These are just references or ideas they can take to implement it on the game itself.
Heavy deployable machine guns and hand held such as the M2 browning and MG131, MG42, and others should be able to tear limbs sometimes when getting shot at. There are many accounts of the MG42 notably, being easily able to completely dismember someone.
Closing Statement
In general, I think it would genuinely boost the immersion and feel of the weapon you are handling, further more adding more realism. Don’t forget the option to obviously turn it on and off whenever you want.

This has been mentioned a bit recently. I doubt most players would want it though.

I think that already happens

Mainly from explosives and high calibers.
I mean I don’t know about it.
However, I have seen it from explosions.
If it does happen, it should be more common.
I mainly just see it from explosions.
If that’s the case, they could maybe make it more common for realism.
I have been playing Enlisted since the end of 2022, and my understanding is that there was a lot more gore and dismemberment in the initial very early releases of the game. You may be able to find screenshots or older videos of the earlier versions of the beta where the game has much more gore and dismemberment then it does now.
I think they probably toned down the gore and dismemberment because its a free to play game and its available on consoles so its easy for a kid who is 10 or younger to download and play, and maybe the gore and dismemberment would be inappropriate for very young kids who may be able to access the game.
Personally I would love more blood and gore and dismemberment. Enlisted has very good graphics and models and I am sure the developers could make it very gory, but I think it is toned down for the consoles and the fact its free to play makes it easily accessible by young people who may not be mature enough to see that stuff.
It would be cool if you could mod the game to have more gore on the client side for people who want it, or have an 18+ mode so that the developers could say that the parents have a choice to password lock younger kids out of the gore if they don’t want their young kids seeing that stuff.

I agree, make it as real as possible, leave the bodies on the ground too, just make sure to leave the options for no gore as well.

Too many dead bodies are going to kill your fps, but yeah if it can be done in a more efficient way…
Right now you cant control how many, or how long dead bodies last right???
I don’t think we can choose right now, but sometimes I will run through an area and see several laying around with blown off limbs and it makes me realize how insane it would be if there was a lot more of that somehow. 100% do not want frame loss, but if it was an option or a slider or something that would be good.
