Did they nerf the anti-artillery tanks?

Why do I get the impression that when I use the HE rounds of the IS-2, KV-2, HO-RI and M4A3 105, NOTHING happens to the enemies!
I just played with the IS-2, I couldn’t record it to prove it, but I just shot a ROOM FULL OF NAZIS with an HE round and the hit was like a shotgun blast hitting the wall behind them, AND NOBODY DIED…
I know that tank shots are very overpowered against soldiers, because they can kill more than 20 at once!
However, I don’t see players overusing them so much, after all, tanks are also easy to destroy if you aim at the right place.
But why do HE shots simply have no effect, even hitting the enemy’s side, and sometimes even at their feet, and nothing happens, not even a hit.
I’m an IS-2 user and I really like its damage, but I have to wait for it to charge for a long time, and even then when I go to shoot… it simply feels like I shot using an Italian TANKET with 12mm caliber…
There’s no point in saying that the bullet ricochets off the floor or wall, because as in the example I gave, I shot inside a room and no one inside died…
But does anyone else have this problem?
Because I don’t think it’s cool to wait almost 1 minute to load a shot, and then when you go to shoot, nothing happens…

I have a similar problem with the KV2 sometimes, sometimes one HE is enough to destroy several squads at long distances, sometimes the HE does nothing.

A targeted nerf would be unlikey but it is very much possible that the devs somehow messed with how explosions function in general. So time ago there was a topic by pilots that came to the conclusion that they felt that their bombs were performing worse than they had in the past but a helper denied that bombs where activly nerfed.

!Huge speculation warning!
So my guess would be that HE and bombs are bugged and sometimes continue to clip into terrain for a moment even after impact (due to faulty hit reg or just server lag).
This would mean that the release point for the fragmentation would sometimes overlap with the terrain resulting in them beeing immediately absorbed and thus the explosion failing to kill.

I do think HE is bugged again, Ive landed a lot of body shots with 105mm HE, only for it to to do literally nothing despite direct impacting a man, I mean I get a hit marker but thats it.

Generally the reason HE “misses” is that you did actually miss.

It is really easy to have HE hit too long or short on flat ground - it is really only reliable in buildings or somewhere you can guarantee the range it will explode by hitting a building or stone fence or wreck or similar.

Nah you need to check what your hitting too, humans can randomly absorb shell, like you get a hit marker, they detonate, but not even a single down, and the guy who just ate a 105mm HE shell to the chest runs off like nothing happened.

Log walls I have noticed are really hit and miss too, but its weird, not all log walls dampen HE shells, some act like stone walls, and its always the same log walls so I wonder if thats actually a bug during map creation.

The list goes on on material types that have no right not detonating HE shells, like AP shells I would get, not HE though.

Man, this must really be a BUG that has been going on for a long time, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon…

Man, NERF is really hard, but bug is unfortunately!

I think so too, I’m new to the game, I’ve been there for about 10 months, but I’ve been experiencing this since the beginning…

Friend, this is definitely a bug, because it is impossible to always miss and even more so the way I will do it, I shot INSIDE A SMALL ROOM AND NOTHING HAPPENED!

I know I’m not the only one, but unfortunately the few who complain about this won’t be helped any time soon haha, so just ignore it and swallow your anger for now!

You need to link to replays for that kind of thing - nothing can be done unless you bug report it, and you can’t bug report it without a replay - which would also help all of us see what you are seeing.
