Germany is the land of pudding and they always made pudding when they wanted to relax.
It was the same in WW2, and their Mess kit were for making pudding.
In my country there are whispers of such legends about Germany, is it true?
I would like to ask forumguys who are familiar with the German army.
The end result of underestimating the logistics… The fact that the Japanese soldiers fighting in the Pacific were eating tree roots because of supply disruptions, while the Germans were able to eat pudding and marmalade even on the front lines makes me jealous.
With the Japanese Navy unable to operate due to the loss of sea control, the U.S. Navy built a warship with the sole mission of producing ice cream and dispatched it to the Pacific Ocean…
The ice cream was used as a reward to encourage US troops to take more prisoners in the Pacific. Sadly, the 77th Infantry Division was rewarded with almost zero to no ice cream during the war (it should be obvious why).
You don’t even want to know the KIA to POW rate is for Okinawa alone. The craziest part about it is that the average age for the 77th Infantry Division was 33 years old. Did I mention Desmond Doss belonged to this Division?
Real war is not good.
If the people who died had not been in war, they might have invented a light bulb that never breaks or contributed something significant to mankind.
