People asked for bigger maps, to remove the gray area, and instead they got the guerrillas…
Now you have units that will rush into the kitchen to eliminate you, and they can do so with impunity because your teammates suffer from cataracts and total blindness, and even with 4 players by your side, no one will do anything until after you explode.
If you didn’t like the units or you’re new and don’t have them, good luck! You’ll see six monkeys running around you, and chances are you won’t see them and won’t understand what the hell happened.
This DF’s aversion to doing what people ask and instead just applying patches is already annoying.
Because in the end, the units are very nice and all, but they still take up unit space for something that everyone should be able to do…
In the end, we blame our companions for being blindfolded apes who only run forward, but if you stop to think about it… What else can they do?
Most maps don’t even give you a bit of room to flank, and it’s even frustrating when the enemy has more than 2 working neurons and reinforces the only place you can attack.
Planes and tanks are useless on 90% of maps, especially urban ones, and in the end it all comes down to the Soviet favorite tactic… Forward and never look back.
But hey, it’s not all bad, we’re going to get some rays of sunshine in the next patch!!!

the problem is not the gray zone we need spawn protection
the problem is people can see into and out of the gray
and people can shoot in and out of the gray
and people can stay in the gray as long as they want
which is a problem but more so for tanks, mortars, rockets
the gray needs not to be eliminated but a buffer zone
you should not be able to shoot into or of the gray
but you should not be able to walk into the enemies back line or gray zone either

Couldn’t agree more, man. They’ve added some great new content, yes. But some other problems all they did was come up with overcomplicated solutions for stuff that could’ve easily been fixed by:
A) Making objectives bigger. Period.
B) No grey zone, but yes to spawn protection zone. I mean, WT does it okay, all things considered. This is the part that I don’t know why Enlisted has to be so half-assed. As at least in WT you get notified if there’s an enemy snooping around the base, which is fair. Which could be something as simple as “We got report from HQ that there’s enemy activity in the area.” Just to alert players. Because this is a game.
C) Tank MG and cannons should not overheat so quickly, (This is so there can be a fair represensation that tanks can fend of well against infantry, as long as they can see them approaching. And fast-firing 20mm tankettes were no joke in real life versus infantry. And they could at least in game use their fast-firing capability without overheating during an uptier, acting as a mobile MG nest, in support of a heavier tank. And not be sitting ducks after firing a few rounds. Combined with no grey zone, in exchange the infantry would get to move around the map to hunt an enemy tank. Have more maneuverability, simple as. Which currently is not possible to do in all of the maps, with this very linear map design that comes from it’s beta days, and the stupid grey zone concept. Which is ridiculous for a war game where you’re supposed to fight your way through.
My biggest grievance right now which this game is how, in the course of two years we went from Paratroopers being somehow considered too overpowered. And now we have fighter jets that can intercept multiple transport planes without any way to counter it from the player. That’s some total bullshit, no matter how you look at it from any game design perspective. Which is why I think this game has no real roadmap of where is heading.

That’s the problem with developers… They release patch after patch and in the end the root problem tends to get worse.
I’ve complained a lot throughout the game, both about the gray area that I don’t see any point in, and about the overheating of the tanks’ machine guns, which doesn’t happen the same way with the same ones in the hands of the infantry…

That would be great if it weren’t so much work. Remember, developers are worse than civil servants in a third-world country… The less work they do, the better.
