If you want to look into this very simplistically and, in some ways, intellectually questionable, You can go with either: Darkflow did nothing wrong or Gaijin did nothing wrong.
Taking Lazzomatic’s points in mind, I imagine a situation a bit like this:
Gaijin decided to push Darkflow to shift priorities towards more premium content. Probably guessing how much worth (money) is it going to generate. Darkflow, not being really capable to resist or otherwise gain independance from Gaijin, was to some degree forced to take these fairly drastic measures - majority of content as premium - rather than bugfixing and other quality of life improvements.
So…
I mean, the worst that could happen is that the Enlisted as a project declares bankrupcy and closes. Basically “Warthunder with infantry” project fails. This would bite Gaijin to some extent…
The best, for Darkflow and Gaijin - “Warthunder with infantry” project succeeds, and is activelly developed, questionable decisions like in Warthunder galore, but, at least we have a game.
But then again.
What would be the best outcome for us - players/consumers?
What sort of game do we even need?
Dear players, you have raised an important issue that we are also concerned about. We always want to add new content to the game that makes you want to level up and have fun, but often we are limited by the desire for authenticity.
For premium units these requirements are a bit easier — we can choose rare, experimental or trophy weapons for them, because their number in battles will be small, corresponding to the scarce use of such weapons and equipment in real battles. Therefore, such weapons are more commonly found in premium units.
However, in the future, we will start holding more events with rewards in the form of unique units, weapons, and vehicles. So they won’t be limited to the Battle Pass.
This approach will allow all players who are interested to gain access to classes and unique weapons, which normally take a long time to get to. And for us — to preserve the rarity of some of the content on the battlefield.
You will be able to take part in the first such event very soon - in our big New Year’s event.
About your complaints regarding bugs and issues. We haven’t stopped working on fixing them. This big update has a huge list of fixes, including many of the ones you wrote about.
Improved mechanism for mounting weapons on bipods or against supports.
Fixed a bug where some aircraft while flying straight could drift sideway
Improved radial shortcut menu:
(PC) By default, the menu is called up by pressing the button once. You do not need to hold the button like on consoles.
Radial menu items now retain their selection when hovering over with the cursor or mouse pointer. This allows you to select a menu element with just a short stick movement instead of holding it.
(PC) Behavior selection menu items no longer select a specific soldier when clicked
well just wanna know if 10v13 bug is gonna be fixed soon. it really breaks the game when it happens. on one side you usually have team with bots, while on another you have at least one stack of 4 players and they have 3 extra players advantage.
If this was the case, why was the Gewehr 41 Scoped made a premium squad but the MkB scoped was made a part of regular progression? The majority of people who like the historical accuracy aspect of the game, are not opposed to new weapons/vehicles. The issue is that some of the weapons that are made a part of the normal progression should have been made premium or as a gold order reward. The same with how some premium squads should have been a part of regular progression. If that is the standard for determining what is premium or not, we would like you to follow it.
Glad to see the feedback.
Many bugs did fixed.
Stalingrad Tracter plant is amazing. It provides a battlefield for much diversity of tactics and mutidimentional warfare while avoiding it becoming a camper playground.
This type of epic maps with unconventional method should be added to every campaign. for example, reichstag and etc.
The event squad give away will certainly be pleasing.
Yet still i think a war thunder like tech tree will grant the game much variaty and also make players less boring with weapon choice (not always mp40s and mg34s)
Premium squads is not a problem. Problem is for many campaigns there should be more things added to regular progression rather than one level.
New bug:JU188 has now only 4*50kg bombs
Lastly, please take notice on the big caliber heavy machineguns, some are too op. This would be a danger to the game. Just like the AA guns in the past. Please be aware of this potential.
These would be my feedback so far.
also some bugs: pz2 flame tank in stalingrad seems not updated with smoke grenades; dicker max’s 105 damage on infantry is too low, not even comparable to a 3N he shell;
Yak-9K premium’s 45mm cannon seems not having any penetrating power or enough explosion power.
Well. Thats nice but that’s not the whole story of MG. How about end with the dispersion madness no one except this Guardian dude likes? Thats nothing more than adjusting numbers. Or at least explain me why the M1919 has 0.4 dispersion despite being an GPMG such as the MG34/42.
Speaking of that, the stat mess needs to end, Keo. I doubt you guys have any overview about what stats you randomly give your guns, not just talking about dispersion. I don’t even say you guys are (that) Soviet based as the MP38 has 0.25 dispersion. The stat cards at least should finally show the actual stats of guns.
Also nice but speaking of that, the P-38 is bugged for 1,75 years now. And sry this bug is too old now, older than the Berlin bug. And the Berlin bug is fixed but still quite late and that’s not acceptable. We are not talking about a flying chair or sth. like this but gameplay-affecting bugs.
Blockquote By the way, we especially want to read your feedback on such fixes as improving the mechanism for mounting weapons with bipods,
I noticed this improvement immediately, before I even saw it mentioned in the patch notes. Mounting weapons is absolutely MILES better now and I was talking all day in our discord about how happy I was that this was implemented. There is a little bit of jankiness with it sometimes on uneven ground as the game tries to find a good position for the weapon, but I can successfully mount almost every time I try, compared to what felt like <50% of the time before this update.
Thanks for this, I’ve seen some negativity lately from the community but it’s fixes like these that prove the developers ARE listening and trying hard to improve the game.
but often we are limited by the desire for authenticity.
But then why do you keep on adding non-historical stuff in every single update to Moscow?
Last time it was mkb & fedorov, this time it is pz iv f2.
Do you not see the issue in the campaigns losing their unique feeling when they all will have functionally same, (in caee of moscow ahistorical gear) regardless of whether its 41 or 45? Stalingrad, moscow, berlin and normandy all have mkb-stg variants as regular unlocks. Where is the point?
Exactly as it should be. It’s a WW2 game, not “well it could have been used 2” game, isn’t it?
– delete Pz IV F2 from Moscow
– delete MKB-42 from Moscow
– delete Fedorov from Berlin
– delete RPD from Berlin
– delete AS-44 from Berlin
– delete M2 from Normandy
– delete Jumbo from Normandy
etc, etc, etc.
The list is long but there’s no point in writing it all because I know nothing will be deleted and the game will continue becoming a parody inspired by WW2.
Which is really painful to see because when I was hooked by the game in 2020 and started supporting the development with premiums, Battle of Moscow was this:
