I think this could really add a added layer of complexity and thought to enlisted, far more than just class name then a number and a small stat boost.
Overall I don’t have anything to add rather I thought that it’d been a while since this had been posted and I still think it’s a great suggestion that if the Devs were smart they’d consider.
It would have been cool, but I don’t think the idea was accepted as the devs opted to just remove veteran upgrades altogether instead of replacing them as I suggested. The original post was forwarded so I imagine the idea was at least considered at one point.
I still think it would be a cool thing to see in the game.
Thats another interesting way to implement it. Sidegrade subclasses instead of direct upgrades (assaulter 2, 3, etc) does a few positive things imo:
First: The player has the ability to customize their squads a lot more to their playstyle. I am pretty much just repeating my main talking point for adding subclasses in the first place.
Second: The replacing of assaulter 4s and the likes would be a significant equalizer in low br. At the moment veteran players with max roll super soldiers have a considerable advantage over newer players. If the replacement were to happen, vets would still be able to make very custom squads that newer players couldn’t. So it is possible that vets would still have an advantage, but at least it wouldn’t be a direct stat advantage as it is now.
