Desertion penalty is like income tax

The reason why we desert is because of:
Unbalanced matches
Some cheaters having momentum and advancing
And Unsatisfied matches.

Desertion penalty is such a shame and because of that, Forest Shadows is a 3/10 just because of the desertion penalty and whats only good about it is addition of guns the last six word’s

Justice for deserters who gave up!

Or maybe you have a bad team? Not having a competent team can determine whether you win or lose

To be honest, the current penalty is just a slap on the wrist and doesn’t bother me, especially since I have all my soldiers and weapons maxed and a mostly completed tech tree, which will never be completed since I rarely play Japan, so they could slap me with a 100% penalty and it wouldn’t make me lose any sleep. :yum:

Fixing the reasons people desert would be better, however, they can penalize all they want, it doesn’t really affect me and so far it hasn’t put a dent in the amount of desertions of others as I can see.

Before the penalty system was implemented, I already made the comment here that it wont work with a negative booster.

  • It will hurt unintentional deserters (power/internet loss, game/pc crashed, emergency toilet visit, etc.)
  • Those with everything maxed out dont care about a negative booster

What I suggested earlier will work: a time-out penalty (5 minutes for example)

  • Unintentional deserters have the time to do what they need to do and then just play after the time-out
  • Maxed out players will have to sit out the waiting time (which sucks)

You can make a waiting time small to start, then increase with additional desertions…

what about rewarding players that stay in those matches where a bunch of people leave the battle or canceling the negative gain on loot from a loss

Anything done to penalize players will be useless without first fixing the game.

Let’s be honest, the game is dead, it doesn’t reach 4k daily players (I’ve checked it at different times) and we’re talking about less than 4k global players worldwide.

Therefore, imposing stupid penalties without first addressing the reason for them is simply a slap in the face to the few who play this game.

If you add to that how disinterested the developers are in the game and how money-hungry they are, to the point of inflating the game with absurdly expensive things, it makes you understand that this game will never leave its beta and that at some point when it stops being “profitable” it will close without ever seeing its completion.

So as a piece of advice, enjoy the game (if you can) and don’t think too far ahead.

Worth noting that the majority of Enlisted players are not on Steam, they either use the original Gaijin launcher or are on console.

Still, looking at Steam stats makes it clear that players are losing interest, maybe we need more invasive ads? Surely that’ll bring the players back!

Dunno, generally a better marketing strategy… or a actual marketing strategy wouldnt hurt for sure.

I cannot remember the last time I saw Enlisted sponsored YouTube videos, or Twitch drops for Enlisted streams. The current strategy seems to be something like “the beatings will continue until morale improves” lol

Wow, great, let’s add 2k more players at most, we’ll surely be able to match up with the 30,000 players at their worst delta force hour!!!

Marketing is useless, it would only attract new customers who would leave within a week at the most.

I didn’t know that:

To have income = exploitation of the system.

Because that’s what systematic desertion is.

Forget it.
If you do that, the game will lose most of its few players.

Angry kids really hate balanced games.
