Circumstances or not, that is still your responsibility. If you cannot play on a stable connection or hardware, you are ruining the experience for other people - this means a punishment.
Yes obviously people living in Asia and Oceania should certainly be punished for living there with no dedicated server. They certainly deserve to be punished for not being Europeans or Americans.
They should add Asian servers and then server-lock them. For the latter, I am not sure that many players are even from the Oceania region. Makes no sense to add those servers, period.
Yeah Only the elite in Europe and America should play Enlisted.
Poor and non-Western people smell after all.
As opposed to ruining their own experience by staying in a match they aren’t enjoying/going to enjoy for whatever reason?
Why is your experience worth more than theirs?
I’m gonna desert this conversation since its not worth it
@Gatinius_VII If you’re right, this conversation is getting worse. I’m asking you, isn’t it a casual game? Enlisted? People who play competitive always ruin the experience for new players. Enlisted will dig its own grave. That’s my opinion. If you don’t like it, then play a game of Enlisted. See, I already made you think about Enlisted. Hurry up and go play. I went to see reddit and there’s an enlisted vote that people say is casual anyway, it doesn’t matter, friend, see you later
And isn’t this supposed to be competitive? Did any dev ever say this was a casual?
The tech tree, the XP system, and the premium units all point to Enlisted as a competitive game.
Don’t mix your bias with the game.
The expectation of playing a team game that the team plays the match when the match begins. “I’m not having fun this match, so screw the other 9 players” is not a good excuse for quitting. Expecting every single match to cater to you, and quitting any one that is remotely unenjoyable, is so entitled it’s laughable. You want something to cater to you 24/7? Go play single player in customs or a single player game. Or put on big boy pants and just get good.
I love all the quitters self reporting tho. The salt over possibly the weakest penalty in a team game for quitting is so satisfying.
Don’t be offended. Now more than ever, Enlisted needs people on Steam. It has 2,000 players. Before, it had 4,000 players. We need to make Enlisted known.
It’s a casual arcade shooter… “I’m not having fun” IS a good enough excuse to quit a match. Nobody is responsible for you having fun except YOU. There’s literally nothing else on the line in Enlisted.
The irony of calling someone else entitled while trying to force them to ruin their own fun, for the sake of yours, is ridiculous.
Do you REALLY believe someone should be forced to sit through a battle on a map they hate, or get stomped for an entire match by a 4-stack of HE spammers, just because the 1 or 2 other REAL people on their team get some enjoyment out of that? Come on.
By your own logic, if you want a game to cater to your belief that everyone should have to stay and sweat alongside you, no matter what, go play a competitive game with ranked modes and penalties in those that actually make sense.
There’s a reason games like CoD, Battlefield, and even inherently competitive ones like CS:GO do not have leaving penalties in their casual matchmaking. It does not make sense to punish players for trying to have a good experience and leaving a match when they aren’t.
As opposed to ruining the experience for 9 other people (more if you count the enemy players expecting to fight actual people) by giving them a braindead ai in their place. The cognitive disconnect is real.
Yeah. That happens. It’s the nature of a combined arms PVP game. I’ve done it in WoT, WoWs, and WT among others - all of which have the same general game design of Enlisted and penalize you with actually MM or crew lockouts if you quit. Because a person quitting impacts the entire team, and that deserves to be punished. If you’re getting rolled, make it miserable for the enemy team. Spam HE at them. Spam wire and mines, GLs, whatever. Play like a rat. Don’t be a quitter because a match isn’t going your way. It’s such a fodder outlook at playing a PVP game.
They don’t have to stay and sweat. They can eat the penalty. There is the option. But don’t play team games if all you care about is your own fun. Theres plenty of single player games where you can farm bots to your hearts delight and not screw over others because baby can’t handle getting rolled every once in a while.
And at the end of a day, it’s a -20% booster for two battles that expires after a few days. It’s not that big of a deal. I’d prefer penalties to be harsher.
The arrogant and selfish guy demanded punishment and ruined everyone’s gaming experience. Sadly, campers will replace deserters and no problem will be solved, damn it.
What kind of naive fool would think that leaving a group of guys who don’t even want to play games can improve your gaming experience?
Wishing you and the campers who can’t even compare to AI a pleasant time.Helping guys who don’t want to work hard at all to win is definitely a happy thing.
And the expectation of a team shooter is also that people play in teams with basics such as building rallies.
But I guess that getting too much expectation here.
Does EVA even play video games for fun or because they are all army rejects?
Big words for people who hate people who play vehicles.
*for veterans
But I know, I know, you guys are not fond of newbies.
Dunno, AI builds rallies and goes to CPs.
But I dont think I need to tell this to glorious EVA.
They also have actual MM mechanics to reduce seal clubbing and also have map filters.
But we cant pick everything from other games I guess.
And it doesnt work at all and people still quit.
But just increase numbers. Inflation is not as bad as people say.
Imagine one dude affecting entire match.
Maybe the teams are not that balanced to begin with.
How dare they not to play like glorious EVA.
Dont play video games at all if your main concern aint your own fun.
Wasnt that Tunisia during old days or early posr-merge BR5 Germany?
Also big words for a game where 90% of your enemies ar the bare minmum are bots.
Holy schizocope because EVA is in the name lmao.
Yeah, that is the expectation for anyone above BR 1.
Non sequitur. Stay mad lol.
Vehicles are fine when they’re balanced properly. Exploiting mechanics like the grey zone is not fine. Being able to have one player cycle three vehicles infinitely isn’t balanced, nor does it incentivize counterplay. Most other combined arms games have cooldowns, increased ticket/supply costs, or rank/score requirements for more powerful vehicles. It makes them high risk but high reward.
We’ve had many times where we’ve queued with new players to help coach them or help carry them through events or public games. We’ve hosted public customs in discords to show new and veteran players strategies and how we do things and they’ve been received positively. There’s nothing wrong with new players. Also compared to other desertion penalties, which are generally MM locks, it is extremely light.
Is there a point to this, or are you just frothing at the mouth because a clan tag?
No they don’t lmao. None of the games I listed have any mm in pubs, which is why you’d see MAHOU or RELIC stacks back in the day and know whatever side they’re on is an instant sweep. Map filters in some of those games didn’t come for years. Enlisted’s could be better regardless. I personally would love to never see Steel Mill/Power Plant ever again.
Another schizophrenic episode. Playing like a rat isn’t entitled, it’s just to spite the people on the other team. The point was there are better options than quitting because baby can’t handle getting rolled. It’s funny how mad seeing “EVA” makes you tho.
True deserter mindset right here. I play the game understanding that it’ll be fun most the time but there will be matches that are frustrating. I don’t expect the game to be perfectly entertaining 24/7. Which is why I don’t leave. If my team is getting rolled, I’m going to struggle through the match to try and win; if it’s unwinnable, I’m going to make the enemy suffer for each step along the way.
It’s funny how a -20% has made so many quitters self-report, as well as make them lose their marbles over a minor xp loss.
Why remembering different names if you guys write the same?
Should I call you EVA 2 or what?
Funny that is is always exploiting when you dont like it.
The average new player who constantly hangs around on Discord with voice and queues with stacks.
Classic.
You did it in the first place so there goes that.
So not sure why you can do that with desertion penalty, but others not when it comes to MM fixes.
Still doesnt the change the fact that AI still builds rallies and tries to capture CPs, which makes them better than most players.
Well, you could argue that by offering Arcade, Realism and Sim battles, WT at least offers some sort of selection as the later two modes are not often played by newbies and people who play for casual fun etc. Not sure about Wargaming though.
And yet both offer them, even if just for premium users. And why should the duration matter? Not like its a secret technology they need to research on.
*According to your standards.
For who? For bots?
And if we follow your logic, it would only make everyone play like rats and thus worsening the game nontheless.
Oh no, not the bad bingo words, Eva 2.
And instead of reducing frustration we should just endure frustration I guess.
And they will not care, but I guess suffering is cool.
And its funny how symptone-fixing instead of cause-fixing methods expose entitled morons.
Because the people here are all vets.
But who cares about new players as long as they didnt join the Discord Enlisted Academy?
