We already have a giant red marker on the ennemy planes.
Why do we need a Black smoke trail?!
In warthunder the black smoke trail is a good indicator to see if ennemy engine is hurt.
White smoke trail is also used, for lesser damage, or different part of the plane enjured.
We don’t need black smoke trail to assist the player to spot planes. We need it only to show that the plane as suffered damage in specific area, like the engine in warthunder.
I totally agree, maybe it should be a setting, experienced players turn it off, new players leave it on ( like instructor) but how many would turn off, it is quite difficult seeing planes… but I still agree as an exp pilot it would make it more fun.
Yes you do. That smoke is present regardles of the damage of your plane. But i agree with removing it, it’s too much. Might be ok with making it an indicator of damage, but when you’re evading a dogfight and trying to sneak away at low altitude, having a large black smoke trail is not helping.
they could atleast make it white and some what transparent so its harder to track to ante up the difficulty and meet half ways for both parts. Can understand its there for the casual players like tank aim assist + marking and im fine with that
Well, I personally do need it. Sorry I’m not good enough to spot a single moving pixel on the screen.
However, it instead gets in the way even for me when I’m close. Maybe instead of simply turning it off, it could dissipate the closer you get to the enemy plane? So when you are right near it, you won’t even see any of it? Unless maybe damaged?
And they also have HP based system for planes, so you can’t be brought down by a single lucky shot. That means you can fight back even if someone has the initiative in every case. Additionally you have alternative camera modes, which makes spotting enemy planes way easier.
Don’t ignore the part about it just because it’s convenient for your view that way.
speaking of which… does taking out the tank commander have any effect on the efficiency of the crew? I’ve taken out dozens of them and didn’t noticed anything. Would love to see a serious handicap when the commander is taken out, like the ability of driving and shooting at the same time. I mean that the commanders role is to say to the driver “go that way” and to tell the gunner “turn the turret that way and shoot that tank”, translated into gameplay it means that you cam move and shoot at the same time. With the tank commander dead it would be interesting to remove that ability, meaning that you can only drive OR shoot via “Y” key.
The disadvantage the tank get is that he cant see as good while shooting at times or have his vision while moving. Tank Commander can be good shooting from sometimes when you need wider eyes on the battlefield around you for the price of lesser acc aim ofc. He also have better prismas around that you can look from asw. Think the driver does to irrc but commander the best.
But yeah would be neat with some slight lower stats for the crew
Sooo… it does smth but it’s not that vital. An impact in the way that the driver and gunner coordonate themselves would be more appropriate, i mean, that’s the role of a commander. Or maybe lose the ability to see markers in the field.
How about this… if radioman goes out you don’t see the markers in the field, if the commander goes out you can’t see friendly forces icons (blue triangles or squares) and it’s harder to make out friendly forces from the enemy.
bit over doing it though and would prob not be popular ^^ But bit slower coordination with the crew would be good. Or they can do as in Warthunder that the commander boosts them a little
