The wartime mod is probably my favorite gun in the game, but the sound of the bolt cycling sounds louder than the actual gun firing. I would either decrease the volume of the bolt cycling or increase the volume of the actual shot.
You can do that in the settings. Go to audio and decrease everything and increase weapon firing volume.
