Darkflow's Holy Grail

I asked my question first, so go ahead and answer:

Impossible because question of broken paras still remains unanswered.

This isn’t posting a illegal documents type thing is it?

Nah bro, I got it from a guy who had an interview with Allen Wilson, Vice President of Tripwire Interactive, on the topic of Red Orchestra 2. He showed the interviewer some of the stuff they saw when they visited Volgograd, which the interviewer then made a Google Drive file of and linked it in a video.

Good one mate.

Well Cod 1 copied it from the movie enemy at the gates, same as medalof honour coping the Normandy beach scene from saving privat Ryan.

Yep. True. I think the layout of the city area in Stalingrad is really well researched. Just like the Battle of Berlin. It is just that we have this odd autumn background whilst we are still missing on some of the most iconic locations in the said battle.

so I suppose your idea aint fixing the issue of paras since still no answer :person_shrugging:

So in that case, pointless suggestion.

Didn’t answer the question I asked first
Thinks he is entitled to his question being answered even though he won’t answer mine that I asked first

Please keep going lol

I did my own little research on Stalingrad in Enlisted a couple of years ago.

Maybe it would be of interest to you.

It is such a shame that all of the Devs research, time, 3D modelling and attention to detail was massacred with The Merge when someone decided that Tiger 2 fighting against ASs 44 and RPD near Univermag is totally cool bro!

I have also visited modern day Volgograd where the renovated Railway Station still stands together with the historical Repnikova house, and you can indeed reach Univermag area in about 7 minutes walk (it’s about 500 meters away).
So maybe the city was scaled down somewhat for gameplay? But the general vibe definitely feels right, I can confirm.

They should never have added the AS-44 to be a campaign unlock and since they have we’re now stuck in this madness

Now, imagine not being able to take the main roads there. Imagine having to clear each block piece by piece, building by building, mound by mound. With all these large buildings and large stretches of land, 500 yards will be 1000 yards. Let’s see those paratrooper spammers try to speedrun this.

Yeah but you still have to make it playable for tanks, trucks and such. It’s a game after all.

However I definitely wouldn’t mind new maps like the Grain Elevator or Pavlov’s Hhuse where the rubble would be everywhere and prevented vehicles from going ‘inside’.

I believe the tanks will do fine since the streets allow access for tanks to be in the mounds. It may not be as easy, but they can still perform moderately well. This is an infantry game featuring vehicles, after all.

Other than a China campaign and more islands for the Pacific like Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Peliu. I want them to make the maps for Stalingrad and Battle of the Bulge historically correct, but they won’t because then tanks wouldn’t work on the maps. #fuckthetanks

Historically correct stalingrad would have huge clear firing lanes to farm infantry and tanks from. It used to almost be like that in earlier renditions of stalingrad before the devs started putting a ton of clutter to give people cover to hide behind.

*To kill infantry and tanks.

But yes, you are 100% correct in the fact that the Russians created large firing lanes, which is why the Germans would avoid them by jumping from block to block by sewers, trenches, or just booking it on the quickest path to gain a foothold in the block. It would be infeasible to run straight across no man’s land, which is why the Germans did not do that after they learned their lesson.

This may change the overall map design of Enlisted, as what Darkflow does is divide a large map into different areas and directions of missions. Even if the attack route is exactly the same, the balance is completely different when executed by different factions or in different game modes.

However, it is still possible after all, as the games have already been merged. People are also accustomed to how bad the Enlisted’s balance can be.
