This game advertises bots and AI squadmates as the core experience, but I have not seen many moves in their direction in QUITE some time.
Darkflow, the bots are a design element of your game as much as a functioning utility. They should be the selling point, and incorporate gameplay features and a soundscape that also INFORMS THE PLAYER.
I’m talking about AI both looking good in animations and making combat decisions that inform not just the squadleader but the ENTIRE SERVER about the state of the match. Bots need to shoot their guns way more in close quarters and at ranges of <50m, shouting and informing each other and the SL about threats perceived. At ranges of 100m or so, let them take pot-shots at the enemy, perhaps not accurate, but the point is
I envison the bot squadmates/AI having a much larger contribution to the FEEL and ATMOSPHERE of the game than they do currently. It’s getting old watching them still move like robots and have zero awareness or agency. Even in screenshots I notice there are no facial animations to get us cool stuff like
rant over. this started as an idea for a better soundscape/bots inform where enemy is better because they shoot more if they are close sort of thing. any way love you guyss bye

The intelligence of bots needs to be improved.
And yes, the game in the screenshots is very cool, there are excellent bots on both the team and the enemies.

Yeah the AI is abysmal. Yet somehow accounts for like 50% of cheater accusation reports per the helpers.
Been playing a lot of Reforger and the AI in this game should honestly be at that level. The bots there react to fire, can use equipment, and will deploy smokes and anti tank launchers appropriately, but are still relatively easy to combat.
