Normandy D-Day favors the Axis team a lot. Allies suffer from poor coverage on the beach making it an easy target for planes, tanks, snipers and mounted machine guns. the enemy team has many mounted machine guns with protection on all sides, the fog makes it difficult to aim at buildings above the beach without a scope, which is where the Axis hide.
First, this is not a bug report, so it doesn’t belong to that category.
Second - this is called assymetrical balance. Allies have many ways to deal with those stationary machineguns, starting with snipers and ending with tanks. One shot is enough to destroy MG. There are also many ways to flank, build rally points or do anything smarter than running straight to the capture point and getting caught in MG fire.
Third - when Allies get through the beach they win most of the times anyway, so I see no problem here.
It may seem like it but the Allies just have to get lucky with the players who join. 1 or 2 engi squads can turn the tide of battle. Once people know that the little flag on the engineer wheel is a SPAWN POINT, things will get better.
Plus the meta to snipe MGs and to blow up cracked walls in the fortifications.
Most of the time my airborne guys can go into the bunker and mag dump everyone in there and cap the point. It’s just the way she goes.
But if you get a team of stupid randos who just snipe, then there’s not much you can do sadly.
you’d be suprised but its in the favor of the allies too, all you have to do is take the first point and it all goes down hill, and its a realistic game with a realistic map.
I have never seen the Allies lose once they take the first and second points, if they still have reinforcements left. After that, it’s only a matter of time.
sigh
While i am Axis main, and thus i am probably hurting myself with this, i am gonna tell you few tips.
First thing first, MG´s can be destroyed by simple rifle fire. One hit is enough to knock them out, forever.
Second thing. NEVER go through middle. Either go through left side or right side, that depends on match, sometimes one side is undefended, sometimes its not, just observe and adapt.
Third thing, use explosives to blow holes in cracked wall sections, opening you new ways inside. I cant stress this enough. Once few such breaches are created, its gets much harder to keep all those pesky Allies on the beach, dying to MG´s.
And lastly, most of my fellow Axis “teammates” have attention span, situational awareness and often even IQ of slightly retarded ape. Smoke your way to first bunker and simply jump in. 90% of time, nobody is inside and about 75% of times once you start capping, nobody will come. People are simply stupid. And sadly same works for every point past first one.
That is, unless i am with my friends in that match. In that case, have fun in barbed wire.
The never ending steamroll of the allies after point 1 is insane. Though the third point can be easily defended if allies neglect the hill and supplemental MG bunker to the left of the third point.
