The D DAY map is completely broken and the allies cant win because of the german bias. the fascist tanks get vantage points to camp spawns. the mgs turn the spawn into a killing field and the barbed wire means allies cant move anywhere. this needs to be changed or the map needs to be removed for abject unfairness.
Use Paras to kill the Tanks if possible and blow the barbwire with dynamit. Problem solved. And most of all learn to flank. Noboddy attacks such defence positions in a frontal attack. At the flanks is no barbwire and you can take the objektiv from both sides. Also taking out the Tanks is possible. Done it hundred of times. And most of all build rallypoints!
It’s not really broken if you can get an aggressive hard flanking going and instead of going down the middle it’s actually doable
You have to create your own spawn points (i.e. rally points) in places, where the tanks can’t shoot you.
That would be on the far left and right side of the beach in the first stage, behind some bunkers. Later on, build rallies on the hills, ideally in/behind bunkers or houses or trenches. This will at the same time allow your team to flank the enemy.
Flank…
If you’re not flanking you deserve to die Don’t complain if you’re walking into a kill zone
the regular nonsense answer I would expect from you folks, good job at ignoring his criticism by simply telling him to adapt and learn to play. I am proud of you.
Good luck trying to kill Tiger and frontal Panthers with M1 Bazooka
But what would be a cool part would be the introduction of bangalors. Then they can make as much barbed wire as they want.
Who said anything about infantry weapons. Pioneers have already been invented and so have anti-tank guns. Proper position in the flank of a Panther and it’s toast. Practiced more than once.
And if that doesn’t work because the angle is too bad, you still have the air force. At any case, I haven’t needed it until today.
Anyway
Good luch trying to pen Tigers and Panthers frontally with a 57mm gun.
If German tanks camp on hill 3-400m or so away from cp and close to the hills not only makes this pointless because you will not reach a position from there you can FlAnK (especially not with a 57mm field gun) but the German tank also has a nice view on your spawn and Allied spawns are quite open.
So again good luck.
Really. Star wars taught us a good lesson about Normandy, when it comes to camping German tanks on greyzone hills.
And what has the better high ground compared to a Tiger on those nasty hills?
Use the tanks (Jumbo) to clean the bunkers from machine gunners and to give cover (smokes) for infantry. Camping tanks (Panthers and Tigers) can be taken out by planes. With the addition of free paratroopers this map will be much easier.
build 2 rallies left, 2 rallies right and one tank needs to HE the bunkers from the start of the game. this is how you cap the first objective 99% and make the defenders ragequit.
no biased involved, just average american idiot players ruining games on normandy.
They’re right though.
these types of responses are never right, because instead of simply disagreeing with him and saying “nah its not that bad” you folks completely ignore what he is saying. He is not asking for advice. He is asking for a change of map structure.
Now don’t get me wrong, I also do agree with you folks that the D Day map is not “broken”, still these types of responses are pure toxic elitism.
I still remember when I used to complain about the Jumbo being completely busted because all that Germany had at that time was a Panzer IV, and all of you zombies kept yelling how I was just supposed to flank it or use planes. It still bothers me so much that there are actually people here on this Forum that use their brain in that useless way.
I fail to see how at least 4 or 5 people giving practical advice to OP on how to improve his experience without having to wait for a map rework would be “toxic elitists”…
again because this is not what he is asking for, no one ever is.
If one is complaining about “something”, his issue is with said “something”.
“practical advice” as an answer to this does always translate into: stop crying, you suck, learn to play
“Flank” is meme at this point, especially when you only write flank or say flank with a 57mm field gun against a Tiger or use paras in greyzones armed with a launcher that cant even pen the Tiger.
In this case it’s true tho.
Maybe that isn’t always enough, but any competent US Normandy player should soon learn that in order to stand a chance on D-day map, the FIRST thing to do is sprinting to the sides with engineers and build rallies.
Before German tanks and machinegunners start the firestorm, there’s enough time for attackers to reach the empty bunker (left) or the walls under the cliff (right), and build rallies there to start an attack from.
