This topic will focus on the customization of a soldier.
Currently we have 5 slots. Headgear, Head, Torso, Legs, and some campaigns offer a hands slot. In this suggestion, I introduce a new slot: the gears.
But lets start of by reworking the prices of each slot. Here are my proposed prices:
PROPOSED PRICES
- Unarmored headgear: 1
- Armored headgear: 2
- Head: 1 order
- Torso: 2 orders
- Legs: 1 order
- Hands: 1 order
Notice how I made the armored headgear cost more than the unarmored variant. I believe this will actually help players, because they can know which headgears give the armor benefit without having to check 5 separate Google Docs.
Even with this price change, a soldier would still cost about 3-7 appearance orders which I think is reasonable. Now with that being said, we can now start talking about the gear slot.
GEAR SLOT
The reason why I made the Torso slot so low and decreased its price by over half is because of this new gear slot.
Currently, when buying any torso customizations you will get both the base shirt and the little accessories that come with it (pouches, gas mask bags, backpacks, shovels, flasks…). This comes with a problem. A sizable portion of the player base complain that the pouches on their soldiers don’t match the weapon they are carrying. With this new rework, the base torso and the accessories are separate.
These accessories will go into their own slot, “gear.”
Each regular gear will cost 1 customization order.
There will be many types of gear: one or more for each magazine type in the faction. Additionally, there will be more gears for roles, such as ammo bearer, where MG bandoliers are included. I also think the soviet body armor should be moved into the gear section as well. However, they will cost significantly greater- 3 customization orders
This will make the game more immersive as soldiers can now have magazines on their character that match the weapon they are using.
DISCLAIMER:
I’m not sure how smoothly this would run, so as for default, soldiers should have no rigs. All rigs will have to be purchased, the reason being that the game will have to load more entities.
I also don’t know if this would be easy to implement but I assume it is, because all the different accessories and torsos are already separate from each other in the game files.
I would also like to hear your opinions.
