I’ve been spending quite a lot of time and effort to customise my assault squad on Moscow to look like less of a threat. Let’s be real here… you can spot them from far away and they do become a priority on the battlefield:
While the best course of action would be to make them look like regular infantry so that they blend in with the mass, i did choose smth a bit more “tacticool” because reasons:
Now, while this works great on the autumn map, they stick out like a sore thumb on the winter one. Not as much as the MG squad in yellow coats but still…
So my ideea is this, we could have a map based preset system where by you could select which uniform your soldiers use on which map and have the game change to it automatically.
Let’s say to choose an all white uniform for the winter map and smth else for the autumn one. If you play Fortified District, you get winter camo uniforms, you play Voskhod Settlement, you get autumn uniforms.
Take note that i said MAP BASED not mission based. There are only 2-3 maps per campaign.
Problem is that you’re going to be keeping your different campaign cosmetic inventories. I’m not sure how you could accomplish making a further filter to individual maps without doubling the number of cosmetics you would have to buy, needing multiple sets for every campaign.
It does imply that you would have to buy 2 or 3 sets of uniforms per campaign if you want to. That’s obvious.
It also brings additional purpose to this customisation mechanic, right now it’s only a matter of cosmetic preference.
This could also be motivation for devs to invest more time in releasing additional uniforms.
as it has been claimed through out some helpers and official devblog,
there will be the ability to select cosmetics presets based on the campaign. ( whatever that means in br )
but, nothing has really been given of ideas / concrete informations.
when it comes to your outfits;
judging by the squads that you made, and how are currently setted, both squads are for winter setting.
as coats aren’t used in summer maps, nor the ““parka”” that is used in winter.
but, i hope we will be able to select uniforms more accurately depending on seasons as you suggested… though, as far as i know, customization hasn’t really been a priority since it got introduced.
