Instead of :
“Engineer’s day event” - Complete 2 battles to get a hammer with a cosmetic string
How about:
“Engineer’s day event” - Kill 100 people with a shovel to get a gold order
It would: 1. be way more fun 2. add something new to encourage people (new and veteran) to keep playing the game 3. these novelty gameplay experiences would make for good material for content creators and videos, helping publicize the game.
The events currently in-game (and also the achievements and weekly tasks) are just more of the same and don’t differ anything from the regular gameplay experience (i.e win matches, build structures, destroy vehicles, etc., etc.). They add nothing new to the game and aren’t even interesting or noteworthy enough for content creators to bother making videos about the events. This is a shame, especially when you compare it to games like i.e War Thunder, where there are many fun and unique events, that are still remembered even years afterward.
Also, the events current in-game are often too easy and offer mediocre rewards. They don’t present any real challenge or require any skill in order to be completed, you just need to play enough matches.
I believe that, under the game’s current format - fast-paced with huge killstreaks - it would be way better to make events with goals that are harder (but more fun) to meet, and that differ from the average gameplay experience. And, with better rewards (like gold orders), fewer people would manage to achieve the goals, but a lot more would actually try (and, thus, keep playing the game for it - which is, I think, the main goal of events), and they would have a lot more fun doing it - and end-up liking the game more, and making videos and stories that help publicize it.
The current events are boring, and they all look like they were made by some boomer. I myself could think of 100s of possible events that would be better, and I think the game would only benefit from that.
