Curious as to what gun people took from the event?

I took the MP 35. Why? I have two from an earlier event and like the MP 35 at level two. I didn’t take the Basal because I already have one and don’t really like it. The PPD would have been my second choice, however I didn’t see any need for it since it’s most likely not any better then my PPS’s or the Uragan, and since I don’t play much Japan the Thompson was not an option, although I would have loved to add it to my Japanese line up, since I do on limited occasion play level two with them and already have three or four others.

PDM-42 as i have never managed to get one for myself. It’s pretty crap and inferior to PPS-42 at least it’s lore accurate for once

None of those guns are that great as:

Besal - bad recoil - M24 + Bren + Vickers are better. But i like how it looks and sounds so i’m still using it as a 3rd MG
MP35 - bad recoil + dispersion + visual recoil not worth trading accuracy (that was still comically bad on mp40) for just 50 higher rpm
Tommy 20 - dreadful recoil and BR2 is pointless as you can always play as BR3 Japan

I took the Besal for multiple reasons : It’s a british gun and I only had one of them, and I quite like it tbh.

I did not pick the Japanese Thompson because I already have 3 of them (it’s a really good gun though), which is enough to equip their premium APC.

I did not pick the MP-35 because I have two of them and… well I don’t find this gun to be particularly impressive.

I did not pick the Soviet smg because the soviet already have access to excellent SMG at this BR from the Tech tree.

At first I thought I’d get the MP35 (since it’s a gun I only have two of, while I’ve had the Besal and PDM 4x and Japanese Thompson 3x.)

But in the end I took the PDM, and gave it to a medic in an assault squad, where I now have 5x PDMs. (Not that it’s a strong smg, on the contrary it’s probably the weakest Soviet BR2 smg. But I quite like the look of it)

Yeah, a lot of people don’t seem to like the MP 35, but I have very good luck with it at level two, but I would not even consider using it at level three, especially when you can use the ZK. The Besal is not bad, but I only have four Machine gunners in my entire level two lineup and I use the Chatellerault. I don’t know if it’s any better but it sounds mean as hell when firing. :rofl: If DF would ever drop the base BAR to level two, I would use it with my four lone MGunners.

second Thompson JPN for me.

I quite like the MP35.

But one has to remember to not empty the mag entirely. 1.8 sec instead of 2.7 sec reload time is really significant difference.

I tried the PDM out a few times when Gaijin was having their close out sale with the BP, but chose not to buy solely because it seemed to similar to the PPS, and I had other gun needs. Way back a few years I think my very first gold order I used it and got the German Wz. 39 Mors. It looked like a great smg at level one, but I have never had good luck with it. I did however use another gold order on one, then bought the remaining two before they went off the BP. I gave all four to a tank squad, which since I don’t hardly ever use my tanks they never get used. I did have them in a medic squad, but I seemed to have better luck using the MP 34 so I just set them aside.

Japanese Thompson.
The PDM and the Besal were not used and uninteresting for me and I already own enough MP35s.

I think the full barreled level three MP 35’s would be good at level two, however, since I don’t use the level three one I don’t know how much different it would be in combat.

I won’t say I dislike it, the gun itself is decent. Bust just like any BR2 german SMG, it’s quite average. Nothing crazy.

The Besal I took is not particularly great either tbh.

I was thinking about picking the thompson, but changed my mind and picked the MP-35
