A while ago I saw a post from people complaining about PC players and crossplay (evidently I didn’t know it could be disabled.) But what about the other way around?
Why can’t PC users disable crossplay? (or you can but I haven’t seen it anywhere)
Today I had a full team of console players against a full team of PC players…
Fox once gave the explanation that it would dilute playerbase too much, and the option was kept for console users due to the supposed disadvantage of controllers vs K&M.
This console player bad thing is one of the biggest examples of confirmation bias I see.
We all lose matches every once in a while (or everytime if you play the wrong campaign), but I personally lose just as much with PC teams than with Console teams (proportionally).
Also, if you disable them you will probably just get bot matches (than can be more competent than some players of course) but nothing will change overall.
They have some assist, if they use a bolt action they will pop you on your chest with one shot, but honestly nothing too wrong with them.
Sometimes console players are some teenager/child/young adult who is testing that free game they saw and sometimes they are good players like everyone else and this forum has quite a few of them.
If the game is ever released on steam we will probably see the same complaints without the console part. Is just casual players being casual most of the times.
As I said, if the game ever get released on steam we will see the same complaints about teammates but without the console part, is just casual players being casual, we are the fucking ones who get way too involved on the game.
Also, I don’t think the advantage is that big of a thing, shooting your weapon in this game is one of the minor tasks to play it proficiently, knowing the maps, the best squad composition, the best time to spawn which squad, where and when to call artillery, etc all are way more important on the game results a console player is just as able to performed those tasks than a PC player.
The disadvantage when shooting is something that goes beyond being on console, people playing with high ping have just as much disadvantage when shooting but that doesn’t matter very much on the end result of the match and how proficient the player is on the game.
Playing with or against bots is more preferable than playing with/against most console players. At least bots can try to destroy your tank, going to shoot at you with acceptable reaction speed of a turtle and rush the objective.
That’s probably true but it’s really hard to judge which one is a real pc player or a bot unless i check the stats of every single match which takes way too much effort. If only Darkflow wouldn’t make idiots out of their player and show us a real player/bot ratio in every match with bots having some kind of icon.
Console player aim with their thumb while PC player use their whole arm for aiming. Console player can’t snap onto a target like PC player can, they rather pan the camera onto the target. Aim assist is needed to promote fair competition as without it PC have the upper hand in competitiveness.
