Hey all, I was thinking and decided to post my top 5 most wanted minor changes for the game to see what others think. Please note that I am defining minor as something that should be simple to code and test. As such massive overhaul items would not be included here.
Make Purchased Slots (to include premium) Optional to Fill (just like the premium slot). The Premium Slot (Slot 11) showed that optional slots are possible. This would just make all purchase/rentable (via Premium) slots also optional (ie slots 5 - 10). This would greatly improve the ability to make presets, especially when limited squads are available (looking at you Japan).
Re-Add Assaulter Iâs to the Tech Tree/Unlocks. I still do not understand why these were removed. The medic is not an assaulter. Not being able to use a bag slot due to the medical bag hurts a lot. The new guerillas are great but also lead to the same issue of the assaulter II: they are pricier. When a player is on a budget, not having the Assaulter I even available, is just a bad feeling. Adding the Assaulter I back also gives another early assaulter squad to the tech tree for those of us who want to push the point more effectively.
Add Rocket Artillery to Tech Tree Radio Operator II Squad Upgrades. Rocket artillery is cool, its flashy, it can be situational, but mostly its just cool to hear the âwooshâ. We also have precedent with Engineer II squads being able to build LMGâs while Engineer I squads cannot. Giving Rocket Artillery to Radio Operator II squads seems like a simple way to give more to the player.
Change âJoin Any Teamâ to a Multi-Nation Selection, with Incremental XP Bonus the More Nations you Select. Some players may not want to play one faction. Others like me like to play things evenly, so being able to uncheck a single faction that Iâve played too much of would be a great QOL change. Adding this flexibility also could improve matchmaking flexibility by adding more to those playing multiple factions.
Return Sunset BattlePass Weapons, Soldiers, and Vehicles We are constantly getting new players. BattlePass weapons should be returned. There is no reason why they should have been removed / sunset in the first place IMO. It is very difficult to tell a newer player âsee that cool weapon, yeah, you canât get it anymoreâ. Iâm sure plenty of veteran players would also love to fill out some of the older weapons that they missed as well.
Again, these are smaller changes I would like to see to the game that SHOULD be easy to implement but could improve certain aspects of the game. This is also not an exhaustive list of changes, just the top 5 that I would personally like to see. What do you think of these changes being added to the game? What minor things would you like to see?
I agree with pretty much all of this but fyi the reason battle pass items are introduced is for fomo if they bring back only bp items people will think âoh I can come back in a few years and get them thenâ Itâs a way to drive interest for the game same with warthunder which is an extreme example.
Thumps up for point number 3 and 5 in particular. The rocket artillery is quite lackluster to begin with. There is no reason to keep it tied to a set of premium and event squads. As for the BP weapons I really underestimated the Kurz following the removal of its burst firing mode. But after using the auto firing mode for a while I came to appreciate its strength. I would really like to buy the 3 additional GO Kurzsâ as well. It would also be cool to see some old âmax-rolledâ GO soldiers returning to the shop.
The reason this game follows this logic is more than likely to follow their parent game warthunder where they NEVER! bring back old event vehicles which causes people to panic to make sure they get the event vehicle.
Expand the maps so paratroopers can actually do real paratrooper things.
More realistic damage in games. Example, I should be able to drop six 250 lbs. bombs on a log cabin or any single story building and be able to kill the majority of people inside. Melee weapons should not have more killing ability then a gun.
This is a bit realistic though. I guarantee youâll be down and out by one good blow to head or chest with an axe. Where as you could take a bullet in the torso and live.
Bombs do need a buff. Itâs a bit ridiculous how accurate you need to be to blow a tank. Anything more than 2 meters away seem to do nothing. Iâve also survived many times on the ground just a few meters away only by laying down.
Iâm so against same tier matches. I like fighting +/-1 the most and have really enjoyed it since they introduced the soft rule. The only part i donât like is all the noob team mates I get. I think the game needs some sort of lobby balancing/some form of SBMM.
I doubt that one blow from a melee weapon is going to kill most people, especially after theyâve had multiple rounds of lead imbedded in their stomach and chest as I see blood flying as I am shooting, yet they are able to shrug off the bullets and still kill me with one blow? Not very realistic, but few things in this game are. Yes, the bullets might not kill him straight away, but he wouldnât have half the strength to impale you with his knife after half a dozen bullets, so I would assume in reality it would take multiple blows to kill with a melee weapon on average, unless your Chuck Norris or Rambo.
