Unless the up to 500 silver from battle awards gets silently added after the battle its just completely busted

I doubt it. Though they might add some simple tasks in a very short mini event like play ‘X’ amount of games and get 5k silver or something.
I believe there was a silver problem before and there was some sort of compensation.
