One element in the game still doesn’t give me peace of mind as it seems missed out a bit and not yet worked out enough.
The current tank explosives that every soldier has are more reminiscent of just certain placeholders than proper models.
Since there are no anti-tank grenades in the game (and I think there would be a great need for them and scrap tnt packs at the same time), then at least the existing unrealistic tnt pack models should be fixed, corresponding each faction little better.
The models should be changed for starters, at least.
1.- Germany: M24 grenade stick pack.
2.- Soviets: RGD grenade stick pack.
3.- USA: TNT bag. (Or just leave the existing tnt stick pack as for the US it makes sense to use them)
There is more. All factions have something from anti-tank grenades, and hand held mines and so on. As I mentioned, for them is a slightly different question.
For starters, at least each faction would need to change existing explosive pack models. Just like it was done with a narrator’s voice.
But before introducing anti-tank grenades in the game, one should think carefully about balance, as this type of grenades at one time just ruined H&G’s tank gameplay. Because the AT rambo was on every corner.
At least, you have to know how to cook them, and where to throw them and don’t destroying tanks just out of pocket by throwing Panzerwurfmine like candy. Has practically one or two attempts. H&G was a hard mess.
It would act based on the existing logic of Enlisted game mechanics. Basically, it would just change the models visually, but not the power or the like. Everything would remain the same as with the current explosion packs, but as with the changed narrator voice, it would add exclusivity to each faction.
By the way, exactly the same should be done with backpacks, ammo pouches ect.
I would change the amount of AT grenades available.
Right now every infantry man has a pocket full of over powered grenades.
I like the idea of limiting the throwing range to a few meters.
I unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the team) am that AT madman. I pride myself on nuking tanks.
Much like the FG42 discussions and the balancing I had suggested a while back, if they assign item values and you have to pick only 1 or 2 troops to be your AT Rifleman along with any AT gunners you might have, it would help balance things more. But the real Rambo problem personally stems from lack of teamplay.
This game rewards a bit of recklessness , so most are dead set focused and narrow visioned on how they play.
Unless you are on comms you are not supporting the tank as infantry.
I do. Personally, but I’ve learned I’m an anaomly in that regard.
There are so many mechanical things in this game that would be fixed (population notwithstanding) with a proper MM, squad balancing.
