I know corpse need to be removed after a while for performance, but currently, even bullet holes last forever… It’s 5min after I see the same bullet holes again. But the corpse only last about 25s… The battle field is just too clean and weird with lots of interactive destructions but not having any corpse.
I know someone will pretend to be corpse, but I think last for 1min is OK. For performance issue, randomly disappeared them or dispawn the corpse far from players is also a option . Or can be customized via options, especially many games have option for blood and gore, from disabled to ultra, and this can be pre-configured or locked for sensor usage in different countries.
BTW, Enlisted’s corpse don’t even have collision with each other, also greatly relieved CPU usage.
(As a RO2’s players’ view. RO2 has a really immersive ragdoll, gore and death animation&voice.)

corpses have a much higher poly count as 3d models than the 3d sprites that are responsible for bullet holes, as they are animated meshes they might even have a higher poly count than the tanks. Performance will tank if corpses stay around for much longer

You know its only interesting information when you are not the 500th guy to shut down this kind of question like that. Yes i am pretty sure that a couple of hundred corpses on screen will melt my pc but as long as its client side and does not affect the server or others i think the option to increase the number of corpses should be there.
