Constructive Criticism - General Gameplay

First off I have to say hats off! This might be the best WWII game since Call of Duty United Offensive, Battlefield, and Brother in Arms Hell Highway!

Things I like:

  • Authenticity seems to be top-shelf. The attention to detail is super immersive

  • Weapons do as they are expected to (and not modern Call of Duty nonsense with mods)

  • Outfitting the squad the way you want is a really nice touch

Things that need some work:

  • The AI on squadmates can be nonsensical at times. They seem to ignore enemies within 15 feet of them and just get wiped. Conversely, at times, they will kill an enemy with no line of sight. I do also think there need to be more options on squad control. Instead of Normal, Wide, and Close positioning, the needs to be stuff like Ambush, Pinser, Covering Fire, Attack this position (yes I understand you can move the mark but that just moves the squad a little and not actually get them to pay attention to enemies in the area.

  • Gunplay seems to be a little wonky still. It’s not a glaringly massive issue but it does need to be refined for overall smoothness

  • ADS is too fast on larger weapons. This limits the use of pistols and SMGs in CQB scenarios. Slow the ADS to removed quick scope shenanigans. Besides melee is actually really fun in this game

  • More Points need to be awarded for supporting roles rather than just the sheer number of kills. Setting the rally points, holding captured objectives, setting up ammo dumps etc…

  • Interacting with placed weapons is clunky at best. Getting on an MG can take a few too many tries.

  • Enfilade and Defilade don’t seem to match up quite well. Enemies in defilade seem to have a glaring advantage in being able to see more of the enfilade target.

  • Increase the cooldown on Artillery strikes. Give the option for Radiomen to call in smoke barrages or a transport drop.

  • The “Managing Soldiers” and Squad loadout screen is is cumbersome to look at. This needs to be fine-tuned along with integrating more user-friendliness into viewing the Academy. I mean just add a filter or two so we can sort by Stars or all soldiers that need Perks picked.

  • Upgrading weapons is slow and tedious even with a premium account

  • add a throwing knife because why not

  • add functional 88’s to Normandy

  • Wording of Perk description seems Too Wordy for some of the perks. Less is more

Only if you prove that throwing a knife was part of a regular soldiers training during ww2.

snipers, marksman soldiers and paratroopers were trained also for close quarter combat ( at least for the germans), like hand to hand combat.

i know that the majority of those soldiers dropped school…

but it didn’t required them to solve 1+1 in order to throw a knife when it’s matter of life or death.

which, btw i’m not a huge fun of the idea of throwing things in this game as it can be quite a nightmare.

back to the main topic:
good to read some feedbacks by new people

+1 for the mention of defilade/anfilade. Cpt Miller would be proud!

I disagree with that one, radio operators got already nerfed.
Learn to avoid the red circles in the minimap and if you play self as radio operator “regiment” you will see there artillery isn’t that strong at all. This buff also just appeared to this one regiment instead that every Radio operator benefits from it.

Soldiers of all military structures in Germany were required, by the statute, to be able to hand to hand combat. It makes absolutely no difference what a military branch it was. Snipers, or paratroopers, did not have any “exclusive trainings” apart from the development of certain of their abilities. There were separate sniper training schools, but the focus was on good soldier shooting skills. These were ordinary soldiers who if needed would join the battle together, as ordinary infantry along with their unit.

No one could drop out of school at the time, because first, in the 1930s, deep militaristic integration of children came into force in Germany. In the ordinary school, everyone was first involved in Hitlerjugend activities. All the young people were enlisted in the military. And was drafted at full age. But the vast majority were volunteers. All the soldiers were educated and received full not only military but also social education in military schools.
