As someone who started on PC and is currently playing on Xbox (crossplay off through settings) because of life stuff, I can say with a certainty that console noobs are usually worse than PC noobs. There’s a certain demographic attracted to free games on consoles that usually aren’t going to have PCs. That being little children whose parents won’t buy them Vanguard or MW2. While you do also get them on PC, there are infinitely more attractive and noob-friendly free-2-play games to choose from for them. People looking to play Enlisted on PC want a specific experience without paying for it. People looking to play Enlisted on console usually only do it because they can’t afford/buy the AAA games, either because poor or parents won’t buy it for them.
This might be true, but I can say with certainty, that I come across A LOT of players on PC who are just as bad. After all, people can download the game for Free on their computers, and just because someone is playing with a M&K, does not automatically make them a competent player. They simply have extra buttons and controls available to them (of which, new players won’t even utilize until they get more experience with the mechanics of the game).
Next to War Thunder, this is one the most expensive games I have ever come across in my lifetime. They have over $2,000 worth of content that is blocked behind various pay-walls (where you cannot enjoy this game as it’s intended to be played, unless you fork out hundreds of dollars.
Yes, it’s F2P, but that’s only a trap to bait and hook people into the microtransaction scheme.
The difference between F2P and AAA games, is often their business strategy.
Many AAA companies, force players to buy the game before they play it. EA Games and EA Sports is notorious for creating game trailers that are visually appealing, and making promises to their customers… But when it comes time to delivering, their games are trash. (Copy and pasting from previous titles)
That’s why we’ve been getting a new Call of Duty, almost every single year. Same with the Battlefield series, which flopped when Battlefield 2042 was released. Did you read the threads and rants of all the angry people who spent money for that game when it was released? Did you see how angry people were, when they discovered they were lied to and the game was dog water?
Now what’s the franchise going to do? Release another Battlefield? Or was 2042 the end of the series?
Gaming companies prefer to make sub-par games, that are often copy-and-pasted from other sub-par games, and they allocate a large share of the money into marketing and advertising. Bells and whistles to appease the people who are seeking something new to play.
People get caught up in the marketing, and spend money for sub-par products… only to be disappointed.
And they do it year after year, because gaming companies are milking them like cows.
Why would a company make one GREAT GAME, which only has a finite number of customers… When they can use the same money, to create multiple sub-par games (on PC, Console, and Mobile)? When money is the bottom line… all gaming companies find themselves in a fierce competition amongst each other, and they don’t want to put all their eggs in one basket.
Not when they can create premium content and add-ons that multiply their revenue 10x.
Just give the players more bells and whistles… who cares if the playerbase is completely unstable. Who cares if high skilled players are mixed with little kids and people who are awful at FPS games… Let’s create an online gaming store, similar to Netflix, where players can download our games “for free”, while paying a monthly subscription fee for access to the store".
You have the Playstation Store, the Xbox store, and Steam… All of which offer games that are both F2P and pay-before-you-play… Either way, whenever you make a purchase, there are no refunds.
From my perspective, I don’t think people who play Enlisted are “poor” or “their parents won’t buy it for them”…
It’s simply another game, amongst hundreds of other games… How much money can the gaming companies extract from each and every player, when there’s a service fee at every corner?
You wanna have fun, you’re gonna pay for it one-way-or-another
Perhaps a percentage of the F2P players, have had bad experiences with buying a game before they play it, and choose to download games that are F2P, as an alternative. (if they like the game, that’s when they start spending money for the premium upgrades and content).
Looks like average age of forum is not older than 13
It’d be interesting to see the forum’s demographics, that’s for sure.
I’m on console and got a 70+% winrate average of all campaigns…
Some campaigns 80+%.
No MnK connected, auto aim disabled (I hate it and for some reason it makes some PC people say we are OP).
Nice job! What’s your favorite campaign so far?
I love Berlin for the premium bolt action squads as I’m quite the bolty, Normandy for it’s history and it’s closer to my original home and Pacific as it’s closer to my new home.
Somehow being closer to it and having family that lived through it + having visited some of the places make it all more interesting. Kinda basic I know but that’s just how it is.
LOL, why would you even bother distinguishing between the two. I think you just need to get used to the fact, that most players in general are clueless (regardless of platform), OR don’t give a crap how the games meant to be played, and just do what they want.
In addition, you could be extremely bad at games in general, but if you were constantly putting up rally points and ammo in useful places, Id give you a pass. One of my mates dad that I enjoy playing with cant hit the broadside of a barn and is slower than dialup, But hes still nice to have around because he knows it, and does the logistics work necessary to have a good game.
True that. Console players don’t suck, everyone just sucks.
Loving the recognition for logistics play. I try to do both. Setup a spawn point in a good location whether I plan on using it or not.
Suggest to your mate he can also play mortars and artillery strikes. Lotsa fun too and no need for a good connection. Also in general bolt action equipped bots can get some pretty long range kills. A mortar squad, where everyone has bolt actions, somewhere in sight of enemy troops in the distance, with an engineer laying down spawn points and ammo boxes with maybe some sandbags to hide behind can run for quite a while before every tube runs dry. Also, sandbags in general are underrated both in usefulness and how many points you get if someone else makes a kill from behind them.
I think you can have two engineers each building like 6 or 9 full reloads for a sorta + 3 loads of the 3 mortarmen themselves.
Oh dont worry about that, he does all that! I was underselling. Loves mortars and artillery.
Reacts to our spotting and map marking. Turns a decidedly below average player into a handy asset (and quite frankly needed).
Yeah, Enlisted is far from a milsim but definitely already favours logistic play like that. Overall very happy with the game. Just like War Thunder it’s basically a semi-sim (not talking about WT AB and RB modes).
