i never decided who will i fight, so 
however i dont like it either when the match is too easy since it’s harder to get score that way
it’s either new player get seal clubbed by more experienced player with their maxed stuff or just split them by level regardless resulting everyone are more or less equal

if you are okay facing thompson with kar98k then that’s okay, if you dont like it then use your MP43 as simple as that. if you want to face other kar98k using kar98k when you have MP43 then you are probably seal-clubbing
Yeah show a screen of your lvl 8 playing everything except Full FG42, STG, MG42 squads, Panther, Pz3N…
There is a method of using some “weight” system. But I have to do some things IRL now, will come back with it later.

Yeah a power level system with each piece of equipment (regardless of stars) has a specific value and your squad has a maximum value you can’t exceed
With lower level gear having a lower value and top tier stuff like the AVT, M2 Carbine, FG, or StG having much much higher values meaning you could only field one or two a squad and then have to start giving out lower end stuff.
Like the tonnage system in Mechwarrior.

i get the idea, it’s probably will get abused by only using MP43 on single soldier on squad consisting 4 soldier making it equal to someone who have proper equipment and soldier per squad but worse main weapon
or use this number dude system and ruining high level player experience by limiting their hard-earned stuffs

Which even then, this system wouldn’t do. You just couldn’t field entire rat squads of powerful late tier unlocks
