Completed Game?

This game has been in beta since before covid. maps have been added, special squads and a complete overhaul with the merger but the game is still in beta? People need to stop buying premium squads until they finish the game

In what year?
I cant see it happening, as they never address issues.

Heroes and Generals syndrome
H&G was longer in BETA than “full release” before it was shut down.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed; but this is the standard way of game development now for anyone but AAA studios with deep pockets for development. It’s an open development cycle that allows the devs to keep working on the game while generating revenue to actually pay for the game development.

It’s not a bad system really, as it allows devs to get feedback much faster and build it into their plans, instead of having to go back and rework everything after the game is released, if you’re lucky.

Some people are nostalgic for the good old days where a game was worked on in secret and then released at some point they considered complete. That was nice, but often it meant they needed to get working on their next game right away and you’d be lucky to get a few bugfix patches before support was basically dropped.

i just want them to finish what they started. they just keep leaving it in beta because people pay for premium stuff regardless of game release staging. either people need to wake up or they get all of gamer bases money regardless. wanting a game to be complete after at least 3 years now of playability shouldn’t be that hard to ask for. im all for waiting for a game to get completed 100% before i buy it. we wouldn’t have games like Kotor 2, Battlefield series (all are way better after their 3 month update that is bigger than the game itself), Cyberpunk, even hogwarts legacies because of the different release dates by council. what is so bad about wanting something to be completed if they get any form of money, battlepass and premium, or not

release by console* stupid swipe

Those games all had bigger development teams and more money, and still took years of development before release. They still managed to release an unfinished game while calling it complete. Enlisted, like many games today are more live service games, that continually iterate and release new content for the lifetime of the game. What would you consider completed in this case?

I’m not defending darkflow in particular here, they have questionable monetization practices and a seemingly meandering development schedule, I’m just pointing out that it’s a different world now and games are developed differently. What counts as a beta is up to the developers, and as the consumers we need to decide if what they have presented is worth our money.

If you want to talk about a game lingering in beta and raking in piles of money while leaving key features that people actually paid for incomplete for years upon years, I’m more than happy to discuss Star Citizen. I hear they have a new ship package for sale for $43000, while after 10 years in development they’re still planning on adding game features those ships are designed for.

oh my, wtf??

Finish the game? Dude, the current state of the game launching at Steam is pretty much asking for review bombed

a completed game to me is making premium squads cheaper because you have an actual fan base and actually taking out of beta causing certain things to lock, like mod games. you can come up with whatever excuse you want. they won’t take it out of beta as long as people are still dumb enough to think it’s actually going to happen so they keep buying stuff that gets taken away with real money. the premium squads in this game are almost like the McRib. the game is changing! Everyone buy your squads while you can! doesn’t that sound like “for a limited time” like the McRib.

A competed game doesn’t need to reinvent it’s self over and over to stay relevant…

Thats what sequels are for
