So i have been thinking about how we could improve the quality of usermade maps, if there is a way to share group of rendinsts to make it easier to create towns, villages etc from scratch.

This is what i’ve come up with: (It’s a rather primitive method but anyway)

1: Create a new scene

2:Find what you want to have in your map

3: Clone rendinsts with the Rendinst tool:

When finished move the cloned, highly detailed building high up in the sky:

Save the scene.

“Import” process:

Open the scene which contains the rendinst group and simply copy the rendinst onto the bottom of the destination file

And you have a highly detailed building in your other map:

However i cannot clone 200 buildings alone and i need Your help. We should help each other create higher quality, more appealing maps!

I will start by sharing the building above:

There’s is a command on the console that let you select Prety much everything and clone or drag.

Sadly that you still must create doors and windows. :frowning:

It doesnt affect gameplay; you would break those windows or doors anyway. (Its a pain in the ass to find the windows, doors in the rendinst selector and making them openable? not worth the time and effort)

Moscow Loghouse Pack

Different sized log houses located in Moscow Autumn.

Rendinst count: 1125. Size: 238Kb

moscow_loghouse_pack.txt (233,7 kB)

1st set the gameeditor to designer:

imagem

open console using \

type :

daed4.pick_rendinst (enter) will be set to true
daed4.show_nonscene_entities = true

press Q to select the tool
press and hold SHIFT key (very important lol) click on the item you want to move, then drag over the object you want to move, copy drag what ever, when you selected what you want, you can release the shift and do your magic.

.

this way you dont need the tedious rendist - bake process.

hope this is usefull for you guys.

(i ill post more commands as i find them, i havent wasted much time on the editor so far)

These doesnt move for me at all.

Does this copy the rendinsts inside? (Like windows, tables, stairs, beds, etc)
It seems like it just highlights the objects
Edit 2 : its very buggy sometimes it moves rendints sometimes does not.
This helps to highlights objects nothing more, it doesnt copy the rendinsts inside; Details still have to be selected one by one.

You can copy windows though now thats great!

Nice find

Cool, thanks!
Ill check them later.

i m trying to find the command to select it.
give me a few mins i m trying rn

Can you explain better the import part?
